Battle of what? Who's fighting who? I don't understand. I though there was just a dragon they needed to deal with. Orcs are mad at who?
Necromancer = Sauron? It'a not the Orcs who are mad, Sauron's attempt at a comeback is being thwarted, and there is the matter of a huge hoard of treasure and the huge, rich kingdom of Erebor that is at stake once Smaug is out. There's an epic battle in the last film that deals with all this.

In the book there's a major battle at the end BUT not much is written about it because Bilbo gets knocked unconscious. It's easy to forget about the battle if you've read the book a while ago.

Looks really epic and badass, which mirrors ROTK more. Unlike the first two, which I felt reminded me of The Two Towers instead, with a strong dash of FOTR.

    Final trailer.

Looks good to me. Hopefully it'll be fun. Lots of screaming and drama! Plus a few deaths.

Also, if you freeze-frame towards the end, you'll see that Peter Jackson snuck a hobbit in the film.

    Can't wait for this.....

...just so it's over and don't have to think about Jackson wasting his time overexploiting the same tired universe.

My expectations for this are so low, I'm thinking about giving this a try in HFR 3D.

It's a bad sign that the Korean audience I saw Interstellar with yesterday were more audibly excited about the trailer for Night at the Museum 3 than this.

Night of the museum 3 will not come with the Episode VII teaser.

Watching the trailer for this in front of Interstellar was fun. It's so odd seeing the higher resolution and deeper colors compared to what you see on a computer. Bigger impact. IMAX probably helped. Wish I could see it again, but I'm not really too keen on sitting through Interstellar again, as much as I thought it was fine.

This is lovely, and it includes some new Battle footage:

I'm going to enjoy sitting down some weekend to watch all six movies. My problems aside with both the Hobbit movies and even the original trilogy, they've entertained me and moved me for almost fifteen years now.

Same here wry. I'm saddened and astonished at how little i've been looking forward to hobbits movies 2 and 3, and yet, i know that when i've seen this third one, i will have seen something fun, entertaining, well-made.

I'm going to the premiere with a bunch of friends. First time watching something in HFR 3D, too.

Jackson has the same problem as with Lucas - given free reign he has no self-control or ability to self-censor. Everything that he can think of and that the budget can provide goes in. That's why it is heartening to see this final part is "only" 144 minutes. Maybe it is bit more focused.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

    This is pretty legit.

Can't believe effects have gotten to the point where we can (occasionally) do this for TV clips/interview. Decently funny tho.
