Match Cut Mix Tape Vol 9 - Shake Your Booty 2

    Download Link: http://rapidshare.com/files/395050971/MCMT9.zip (NEW VERSION!)

(hint: try listening to the mix before viewing the track order. it's fun to be surprised!)

It's that time of the year again! Shake Your Booty Time!

Summer is just around the corner, and you wanna look good in your swimsuit, don't you? Of course you do. So that means it's time to shake off the last of those Christmas pounds with some music you can shake your booty to so f'n hard that it just might fall off and go bouncing down the hall, and then you can get some extra exercise chasing after the damn thing.

Last year's Shake Your Booty Mix seemed to be a big hit, so I'm not gonna mess with the formula, which is this: you tell me what songs you want to be in the mix, and I'll mix them all into a continuous DJ set, which I will then post somewhere for you all to download, pop into your favorite MP3 player, and get down to. One request per match-cutter, please.

I'll allow 15 slots to begin with, reserving 2-3 slots for myself, which I will use for songs to serve as glue to hold the mix together, to round out gaps, perhaps to segue into each other, or mash together even. I'm shooting for a 70 minute mix, one you could burn to a single CD. If it turns out I have room for more, I'll open up a few more slots to you guys on a first come, first served basis, with deference given to folks who haven't had a chance to get a song in yet.

So, the schedule. As you're reading this, the list is open for song suggestions. I'll keep it open for a week or until we get 15 songs on the list, whichever comes first. I'll then proceed to gathering any songs I don't have (which I figure will be most of them). If I need help finding a particular song, I'll PM you for help.

I'll then spend a week or so figuring out song placement and putting together a mix, and then you'll see a link from which you can download that bad-boy.

Should be a good ol' time. I've upgraded both my skills and my tools since last time, so my hopes are high that this one will be even better than the last.

And with that, I open up the floodgates. Get those song suggestions in, comrades, and I'll go to work just like Kool Moe F'n Dee.

    The List: (locked)
    1. We Are the Ones - The Coup (Kurosawa Fan)
    2. Dear Sheila - Fase (Daniel Davis)
    3. You Ain't Seen Bouncin Back - Mystikal (Ezee E)
    4. Skankenstein - Kora (Winston*)
    5. Dirty Disco Dub - The Orb (Russ)
    6. lady don't tek no - latyrx (Kurious Jorge)
    7. know your enemy - Rage Against The Machine (Raiders)
    8. Cantamilla - Tranquility Bass (Spinal)
    9. Do the Astral Plane - Flying Lotus (Derek)
    10. I Like Music (W.O.S.B.) - Junior Senior (Sycophant)
    11. Kick out the Chairs [Whomadewho Version] - Munk feat James Murphy (Transmogrifier)
    12. Daisy - Brand New (Brightside)
    13. Off and On - Roisin Murphy (Thirdmango)
    14. Marrow - St. Vincent (Dreamdead)
    15. Moaner - Underworld (Chrishnu)

So, the list is officially locked down. Next comes the gathering of the songs, learning their nuances, mix-in, mix-out and mash-up potentials, the figuring out the order in which they should go on the mix.

I'll engage you on a person-by-person basis if I have any trouble locating a particular ditty.

    Stay tuned!

Oooh, this is nice. Can always count on the Double D for some nice minimalist electronica.

I thought you'd like that. They call it Folkimal - a mix of minimal with folk instruments. All the real instruments are played live and sampled.

I still listen to the first one every now and then when it shows up in the iPod. It definitely is great for the first 5-10 minutes.

I've got a second one if no one else has one:
