I don't want to encounter that in my house, ever.
Holy hell, I haven't laughed so hard in a long time. The last few moments are side-splitting.

EDIT: Dammit I cannot figure out how to embed facebook videos, but if you follow the link you get one hell of a badass combo of Star Wars and anime drawn by one fan.

Anybody else seen these odd, slightly disturbing and uncomfortably funny videos?
If you choose to watch it, make sure you stick with it. It gets weirder as it goes.

I had to check this out because I heard people discussing it on a podcast. I loved White Zombie, but none of Zombie's solo stuff I've given a rats ass about. I think someone needs to get him into an intervention.
Holy lucky!
This is Dan Bell's DEAD MALL SERIES.
Over the past year, this has become my favorite Youtube series.
I love mall culture. I'm not as into it now as I was back in the late 90s and early 00s, but I still find it interesting. I have a lot of nostalgia for malls, especially K B Toys (going there with my amazing grandma for special treats), Suncoast Video (I'd check out their Martial Arts section every Sunday on the way home from Church - still the best Martial Arts section from any video chain), EB World, and Walden Books - I bought a lot of cool things at these stores, things that defined a lot of the hobbies that I still have.
When I first moved away from home, I didn't have a lot of friends, and missed my old places, and would spend a lot of time at the Glendale Gallery in So Cal. I could go to the mall and see the same stores I was familiar with, and it made me feel comfortable. It was there that I developed this SF theory that there really is only one Uber-Mall, and every door to a mall in our world leads to a certain part of the universal Uber-Mall.
This YT series focuses on dead and dying malls. The host, Dan Bell, is well spoken and presents the material with a strange kind of reverence for the subject, incorporating vaporwave and mall music, history, and pop-culture.

Highly recommended
Yeh I've been subscribed to that channel for quite some time. Death of all malls!
Okay, not YouTube, but here's a nifty, well-done little thing: https://vimeo.com/231678261
As much a celebration of Disney as a catalogue of its tropes and patterns, thematically or visually or otherwise. Didn't notice a mention of dead/absent/abusive parental figures tho!
