I don't know why anyone would think it'd be a good idea to make a Justice League movie without a Bruce Wayne Batman.

    Alternatively:

I don't know why anyone would think it'd be a good idea to have the same actor play two different incarnations of the same superhero.
If they can get Christian Bale signed to make a cameo in Justice League and have a scene mentoring the new Batman, I think it could work.

Though the chances of that are slim to none.

Also, this comes out in a few years and there is no writer/director announced?
    Sure why not?

STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Rian Johnson) - 9
STRONGER (David Gordon Green) - 6
THE DISASTER ARTIST (James Franco) - 7
THE FLORIDA PROJECT (Sean Baker) - 9
LADY BIRD (Greta Gerwig) - 8

Honestly, WB must be throwing wild amounts of money at Nolan's feet to direct this because if they want to keep it in the same direction as Snyder's film and his Bat trilogy, I don't see how another director could step in and do it.

If WB really wants to compete with Disney on this, they really need to realize that studying the Marvel movies is a terrible idea. They have the opportunity to distinguish themselves from the competition by saying, hey, look at the Batman movies, look at the Superman movie; from now on, DC superhero movies are more serious, aims at an older audience, and carries more prestige than Marvel's popcorn blockbusters. Then you build your brand on that mindset, and once it's firmly established with several other heroes, you can integrate each other more seamlessly.

Not saying the result would be good, mind you, but it's a much better strategy than "me too"-ing one of the most successful movie enterprises in history haphazardly. Forcing crossovers like this based on the foundation of a franchise that was built to be standalone is going to result in some serious crash and burn.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Dick Batman was never Actual Batman.
    How come?

JGL is a terrible choice for Batman. I think they need to ignore the Nolan franchise if they're going to make this the next big DC Comics blockbuster.

Because Actual Batman was still alive and Being Batman Across Time and Space. Dick was always just a fill-in. It's what the whole run is about.

Ok, but during his time as a fill-in (both in that run and in Prodigal)... he was Batman.

I know that this argument is beyond nerd and we should probably stop it.

I will say he played Batman. Remember when Dick played Batman? And sure, he's a little method...

Huh? You're being rather weirdly pedantic right now. What's the difference? For a long while, Bruce Wayne was nowhere to be seen and the Batman appearing in various DC books was Dick Grayson.

Next you're gonna say that Cassandra Cain and Stephanie Brown were never Actual Batgirl, whatever that means.

Haha. Yeah, I smacked my face with a car door this morning and got a concussion. Mental functional impairment has long accounted for the obstinate semantics nut.

JGL's reps have flat out refuted the Justice League/ Batman rumor:

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

AICN says they have some internal WB doc that claims they want a Batman, JL and Antman movie by 2015. No way that will happen.

Wait, Ant Man isn't even Warner Bros. is it? Or is it like a co-production thing?

(Not that I actually buy AICN's obvious and sad attempt at linkbait as a way to remain relevant, just wondering)

Oh it's not from WB. It's a company that works closely with studios.

Huh, so apparently Batman will be in the next Superman movie, and we're getting a Flash movie before Justice League as well.

Definitely more interesting to me than another direct Superman sequel, but I wonder if anyone will care about the rest of the Justice League once World's Finest has already been done (hopefully sufficiently).
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)
