What they should do is get Whedon to direct the Justice League movie.

Ben Affleck has been approached to direct this. Not too surprising, as he was considered for Man of Steel as well.

(I think he turned that one down...)

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I think either choice would be good, though would prefer Affleck for his atypicality. I'd like to see his directorial sensibility applied to a big budget FX bonanza.

Remember that post about the spellchecker position? Just don't forget that post.

I actually like Affleck as a director, but I'm not sure he would have been the right person for this movie.

And for those that aren't aware, Hammer was already cast as Batman in George Miller's Justice League that WB pulled the plug on back in '08.

This is actual news this time around because people actually know who he is now.

DC Comics' superheroes can finally team up on the big screen following yesterday's legal victory for Warner Bros. in its long-running fight over the rights to Superman.

The studio is expected to accelerate development of a planned "Justice League" movie that would join Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and other characters, according to a knowledgeable person not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.

Warner hopes to shoot the film next year and release it in the summer of 2015. The studio already has a "Justice League" script in the works. Next it needs to attach a director and then cast the lead roles.

Even though it's currently a rumor, it seems that Drew's source is confirming that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will appear as Batman in Justice League.

WB is also trying to get him to do a quick cameo in Man of Steel ala Nick Fury at the end of Iron Man.
    Sure why not?

So would they keep him as the "Robin" character turned Batman or just recast him as Bruce Wayne? I wouldn't mind if they kept in continuity with Nolan's universe, but I don't think that'd be very feasible for them from a marketing standpoint.

Yeah, seems dumb. As much as I think JGL would be a good Batman, it's a big leap to go from Nolan's "grounded" universe to a place where Superman and Green Lantern are possible. They'd be better off going with someone else with no connection to the Nolan-verse.

JGL is on of the best young actors working today. I would be very excited for his Batman.

Not a difficult role, doesn't require a 'good' actor.

JGL is waaaaay too small to play Batman.

I could buy him in a live action Teen Titans or Batman Beyond, but not as Bruce Wayne post-TDKR.

I don't know why anyone would think it'd be a good idea to make a Justice League movie without a Bruce Wayne Batman.

    Alternatively:

I don't know why anyone would think it'd be a good idea to have the same actor play two different incarnations of the same superhero.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Don't worry. They'll glue some of the stage putty to his face & he'll look just like Bruce Willis Christian Bale!

He was too small too. And bald.

But that doesn't matter so much when you're playing against Jack Nicholson and Danny Devito.
