Knowing Miller, there will be a subversive element to that title.

I love it. Its grotesque enough to assure me that that it's a little winking. Yet it'll bring about incessant kvetching from fans for the next two years. It's probably wrong that I feel that way, but I like it!

I'm thinking it'll end up being like Team America, and will make a blatant observation about how all of these JLA heroes are from the States.

Sounds like a desperate attempt to cash-in on the success of NBC's Heroes.

Jay Baruchel is rumored to play a villain in this:
    http://movies.ign.com/articles/841/841306p1.html
The big casting rumor of the day is that Knocked Up co-star Jay Baruchel is in the running to play the villain in Warner Bros.' live-action Justice League of America movie.

The rumor originated at TriggerStreet.com, a Web site started by Kevin Spacey's production company. The report claims that Baruchel has walked away from starring in the DreamWorks project She's Out of My League to join JLA instead.

There's no word on which villain role Baruchel might play, if the rumor is indeed true, but Maxwell Lord is reportedly the central villain of the story, which is said to borrow heavily from DC Comics' build-up to its "Infinite Crisis" storyline.

The way that article makes it sound, the new title was made up by Christian Bale. I call bullshit on it.

I am hyped for the movie, provided they wait until Batman and Superman sequels are already out. George Miller is the perfect director for the project.

The no-name cast makes me very wary about this film. Seriously, COMMON is playing the Green Lantern?

Justice League is on hold till after the strike:
Both Variety and The Hollywood Reporter have confirmed that Warner Bros. Pictures let the options lapse on Tuesday for the cast members, which included D.J. Cotrona, Adam Brody, Anton Yelchin, Common, Teresa Palmer and Megan Gale. The studio cited script issues as the one of the causes and the other is that the project needed tax breaks from shooting in Australia.
Guess it will be recast when/if it happens after the strike.
Probably not a bad thing (especially when it comes to Batman & Superman)

Yeah, seriously. The superhero hype has been around for 8 years now, and yet I feel it's too early for a Justice League movie. At least release Wonder Woman and finish the Bat/Sup trilogies.

I hope Miller is still directing when and if the project gets back its greenlight.

You know what? The week before the hold up I was lining up working on the second unit of this. I met this chick at a party who's a PA in charge of staff and she said they were looking for all 2nd unit staffers and were desperate to hire quickly. I mentioned I was interested and it looked pretty good.

Would've had to have quit my job and taken a pay cut, but still. Would've been cool.

Joel Silver says the movie's all but cancelled.

It's been "tabled", so it's not happening anytime soon, if at all.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

According to Variety, that's when Warner Brothers hired Will Beall—who already landed such plum assignments as Logan's Run, Gangster Squad and a Lethal Weapon reboot—to write their Justice League movie. Warner anticipated The Avengers' hugeness and wanted to get their collective caboose in gear sooner rather than later. (Of course, Warner tried to make a Justice League movie once before, back in 2007, but it fell apart.)

But Beall and Warner have something of an uphill battle. Whereas Marvel was able to set the table with Captain America, Thor and the Iron Man movies, Warner has only found success with Batman—and the two men most identified with that success, Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale, are done with Bats after The Dark Knight Rises. Green Lantern was a bit of an air ball and the 2013's Man of Steel is a big question mark.

Wonder Woman is in the works as well. (Again.)
With all the excitement yesterday of the potential for a Black Panther movie (which we're hearing is false) and a writer being hired for Justice League, it seems another announcement got lost in all of the squealing and shouting.

Not only did Variety report yesterday about Will Beall being brought on to write the Justice League film, they also mentioned that Green Lantern scribe Michael Goldenberg has been brought on for Wonder Woman.

No word on release dates or casting yet, but stay tuned here as we will bring you any and all updates we have.
Did anyone ever see the pilot for that NBC Wonder Woman show? Checked it out a couple of weeks ago. Wasn't prepared for something that horrendous.

    Palicki did alright though.

With the Green Lantern writer penning the script for the WW movie, this time we can be.

Yeah, seriously. The writer of Green Lantern must be screwing someone really powerful. Can't be explained otherwise.

The DC Animation Wonder Woman film is a perfect blueprint for how a live-action film should play out, by the way.

This thread is so old a Buff post about trying to be involved as a member of the crew is present. Without Bale as Batman plus the failure of the Green Lateran movie, I'd say this project is about close to dead. But hey you never know...

WB must be kicking themselves for booting Whedon off WW.
Wow, really? No wonder the show failed. LOL at WB for booting off a WW show someone who knows how to properly write and direct female characters. Not mention someone who was responsible for creating one of the network's biggest hits.

Er, Whedon was attached to the Wonder Woman movie, not the show.
