Ok, I'll be honest: I'm voting for Bjork, not so much on the strength of her video, but mainly because

    (1) I'm not a big fan of the Hole video

    (2) Everytime I watch Bjork's Big Time Sensuality video, I immediately think of Dawn French's hysterical parody (and that's a good thing):

    Bright Eyes
I am impatient of all misery in others that is not mad. Thou should'st go mad, blacksmith; say, why dost thou not go mad? How can'st thou endure without being mad? Do the heavens yet hate thee, that thou can'st not go mad?

Bright Eyes, without a doubt. For my money, one of the best from the entire play-in field. This is an underdog I can cheer for all the way to the finals.

Why hate? Do you have a certain problem with old people? Actually, I do too, but I still enjoy the video.

    Bright Eyes. Very cute.

I like the idea of the Sigur Ros video. However the music to the video doesn't work for me. So thusly Bright Eyes will be my vote here today.

I didn't vote for either of these in the rounds before cause I don't like either of them. With that said, I've never liked Hole, and I do like Bjork sometimes.

Hoppipolla. Bright Eyes video is good, but nothing terribly special. Interesting to know that Mitchell directed it though.

Um, Bjork's video I suppose. Don't like either of these at all. Hole's video tries too hard, and Bjorks bores the hell out of me.

Battle: #6 Here It Goes Again vs. #11 What's Up Fatlip (SUDDEN DEATH)

    Instructions:

Please take the time to watch both videos and then cast your vote by making a post in this thread. Thread will be open a minimum of 24 hours and then may close any time after that at my discretion.

Although it will naturally be difficult to vote for music you find disagreeable or against personal favorites, please remember that the primary question should be "Is this the most effective and/or artistic video?" not "Is this the best song?" Basically, just keep an open mind and allow yourself the opportunity to be pleasantly surprised.

    Here It Goes Again

    Artist: OK Go

Director: Trish Sie and OK GO

OK Go is a rock band originally from Chicago, Illinois, now residing in Los Angeles, California. The band is composed of Damian Kulash (lead vocals and guitar), Tim Nordwind (bass guitar and backing vocalist), Dan Konopka (drums and percussion) and Andy Ross (keyboards, guitar and backing vocals), who joined them in 2005 in replacement of Andy Duncan. The original members formed as OK Go in 1998 and released two studio albums before Duncan's departure. The band is notable for their unusual fashion sense and their energetic music videos. After OK Go's exposure on This American Life and their relationship with They Might Be Giants, the band released its self-titled debut album in 2002. The band's second album, Oh No, was recorded in Malmö, Sweden, in the fall of 2004. The band previewed their third album, titled Of the Blue Colour of the Sky, on a short sling of dates on the Eastern Coast of the U.S., starting in Philadelphia on March 6, 2009. They have stated that these songs are the "danciest, most anthemic, most heartbroken, and honest songs", of their career.

    Defeated:
    Madvillain - "All Caps"
    Röyksopp - "49 Percent"

    What's Up Fatlip

    Artist: Fatlip

    Director: Spike Jonze

Fatlip (born Derrick Stewart) is a Los Angeles-born hip hop musician. He started his career in the hip hop group The Pharcyde. After the release of the Labcabincalifornia album, Fatlip was kicked out of the group for leaving the supporting tour for their second album in favor of working on his own solo efforts. It is rumored his departure from the group may have also been linked to his use of cocaine. In the group, Fatlip could be recognized for his conversational-style delivery of his verses and for having one of the deeper voices. In 2005 Fatlip released his solo debut, The Loneliest Punk. Fatlip appeared on MTV's Jackass sliding down an escalator rail. In 2007, he collaborated with The Chemical Brothers on their song "The Salmon Dance" which is featured on their album We Are the Night.

    Defeated:
    MGMT - "Time to Pretend"
    Nine Inch Nails - "Only"

Battle: #2 Come Into My World vs. #15 Knife

    Come Into My World

    Artist: Kylie Minogue

    Director: Michel Gondry

Kylie Ann Minogue, OBE is an Australian pop singer, songwriter, and actress. After beginning her career as a child actress on Australian television, she achieved recognition through her role in the television soap opera Neighbours, before commencing her career as a recording artist in 1987. Her first single, "Locomotion", spent seven weeks at number one on the Australian singles chart and became the highest selling single of the decade. Her debut album, Kylie (1988), and the single "I Should Be So Lucky", each reached number one in the United Kingdom, and over the next two years, her first thirteen singles reached the British top ten. Initially presented as a "girl next door", Minogue attempted to convey a more mature style in her music and public image. Her music videos showed a more sexually provocative and flirtatious personality and several hit singles followed. Although she was dismissed by some critics, especially during the early years of her career, she has achieved worldwide record sales of more than 60 million, and has received notable music awards, including multiple ARIA and Brit Awards and a Grammy Award.

Their sound has been categorized as psychedelic pop, folk rock, and experimental, and is dominated by the use of acoustic guitars and vocal harmonies.
