That human/dino concept art was fake. ILM said it's not theirs.

My parents took me to see JP while on vacation. I hadn't even seen a trailer. They said it was about dinosaurs or something. I was expecting Godzilla or Land of the Lost. I left the theater heartbroken, for surely Hollywood will never ever top such a film. Ah, the folly of youth.

I think I saw it five times in the theater. Saw Lost World once while in Colorado Springs when my brother graduated from the Air Force Academy.

Saw them all once on the theater. Saw Eight Legged Freaks twice in the theater. I don't always get me.

I too experienced a family night event with Jurassic Park on opening weekend. Did anyone else remember that this was also the weekend that McDonalds introduced super sizes with a Jurassic Park theme? It was such a big hit they kept the super size option. Super Sizing was also killed by the Super Size me documentary.

    The more you know.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

The CGI looks so bad in this movie that it almost seems DTV-worthy.

I'm all about dinosaurs, but this seems lazily done.

I am sure they'll be cleaned up by release, but I am actually rather happy they tried to keep the look of the originals.

As for Pratt riding with the raptors, I did some reading on that (because it seemed odd to me as well) and his character is apparently a behavioral expert and has actually been acclimated into the raptor pack as some kind of alpha, and that shot with the motorcycle was them going hunting the big dino together, as a pack.

I don't care how cheesy it might sound in retrospect, that sounds ridiculously fun. I can't wait.

Forget all those Sony crossovers -- now I want to see Dino Pratt Jr go up against Evil Arnold Terminator.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

    I'm really confused.

What in that photo screams that the movie is going to suck.

Don't get me wrong, I do think the movie is going to be terrible. But I don't see what others are apparently seeing in a simple promotional photo of the lead actor standing with one of the dinosaurs.

The dinosaur looks plastic & Pratt looks like a wannabe working a Universal Studios theme park ride. For a promo photo, it looks stiff, posed, and not very fun.

That's really just a guess. I didn't have a big reaction to it, but Duke's post made me laugh out loud & take a closer look.

Also it suggests that the Raptors are domesticated... which was also alluded to in the trailer.

I don't see how it suggests that at all. It's a promotional photo not a screen cap.

When the original came out there were plenty of photos of cast smiling and laughing with dinosaurs. We didn't all jump to the conclusion that the dinosaurs were friendly.

    There was?

In what other context should the promotional image tell us? "We have Chris Pratt and Raptors in our movie"? "BTS with Chris Pratt and Dr. Raptor"?

The promotional image shows Pratt and a dinosaur. I see no reason to read into it any further than "here's our star, and a prop"
