"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Yeah the premise is stupid, but at least the effects look better.
Why couldn't they make Jurassic Universe and put the park in space? That embraces the absurdity of its concept more.

Looks wild and weird. Some nice visual tableaux, tho it's odd that they showed so much of what is presumably one of the big setpieces in the movie. I really don't care about Blue. We'll see.

I think the premise of Jurassic World was good. The movie was terrible though.
This premise sucks so maybe the movie will be good?
I think the premise is more interesting than Jurassic World, which was just a sort of fan fiction of the first film.
Not saying this trailer did much for me, hell, I was more excited by the teaser of Battle Angel Alita next to it on youtube.

Looks better then the last one to me at least.
When was it proposed that this was a volcanic island? If it was in the last one, I hardly paid attention, so that would make sense.
If it's a Costa Rican island, chances are good it's volcanic.
I just don't quite grasp what the premise is. Like, why enlist these two? Why are these two volunteering? Why does it matter to them? What's the human drama? Is there an antagonist? Is it really just because of a single raptor? Is this a "Christian the Lion" situation? If so, that is a really tough dramatic angle to hang your hat on, even with Goldblum narrating sci-fi cliches in his inimitable style.
Do we think the the tension is going to be rooted in outrunning this volcano or is this a bait-and-switch where the rescued dinos perhaps end up in the mainland much earlier than they do in The Lost World? I mean, unless we think Trevorrow has really learned from his missteps I think this is safely going to be as boneheaded as the previous film.
Premise seems like pure nonsense, but the set-pieces, visuals, and direction look to be better at least. Hopefully it's not too stupid for me to not enjoy those.

It's kinda hilarious. Working with animatronic dinosaurs, making a big deal out of it, then stuffing the thing full of CGI eruptions, folks running away from CGI eruptions.

Thinking about the premise some more, a rescue mission is sort of the direct opposite of what I was expecting. We are perhaps so conditioned into thinking that big fearsome dinosaurs have to be the villain by default, tearing up the stage, eating the tourists, but really who would want these extraordinary creatures to truly perish? Get their commeupance?
Turn that around. We created the dinosaurs when we should have left well alone as Malcolm has said, so we put them into a position where a second extinction is now a reality for these poor animals. It sounds unfathomably cruel.
This is a story about redemption. Although I highly doubt a voracious T-Rex will be able to understand mankind are the good guys now.

Interesting, the trailer shows a relatively small portion of the film according to Bayona. There isn't a single shot from the film's second half. He proceeds by saying that the main reason he wanted to be involved is for what happens in the second half. Stuff like that gets my ears perked up.
The music overheard during the trailer is a special take on Williams' theme by adding something Bernard Hermannesque. Bayona says that "We’re bringing back this element of terror and fear and Hitchcockian suspense." Could the second half be where it's headed? Bayona has begun as a horror director, I was hoping it would go in that direction, but the trailer evidently gave me pause.

That was a really boring trailer. I'm guessing subsequent promos might suggest a more fleshed out story, but this was a pretty poor introduction.
