I'm on board with the Congo reference and inspiration. But not the Congo movie. Except sometimes.

If trailers for trailers were more like this, I'd happily watch:

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Surprised Pratt and Howard went for all that.

But that's a classic trope of "lost world" movies. In that it's a plot turn taken directly from 1925's The Lost World and the two ...That Time Forgot flicks.

I'm fully on-board with that pulpy crap.
We'll see. Oh yeah, that Doug McClure eh? The Land that Time Forgot was a huge childhood favorite of mine. I saw it again not long ago and there is still something awe-inspiring about a WW2 sub discovering a mythical island, even if the effects were dated. Same with Island at the Top of the World. Volcanic eruption sounds very 1997-ish.

Apparently, JW 2 is a rescue movie. Pratt and Howard are trying to rescue the dino's from a 2nd extinction.

If that's the case it should be a comet movie. Been a while since one of those. Have the dinosaurs stop it from hitting Earth.

Cool promo, including a few nice Orphanage touches. I remain hopeful for a fun JP movie again.

EDIT: And the physical work! Putting that bubble thing on a roller coaster with a green screen behind it is genius.

Hope that practical stuff pays off. Jurassic World was a soup of CGI nonsense. So glad it's Bayona and not Trevorrow in the chair.

In fairness to Bryce, a line like that is probably coming from handlers.

    It is annoying, for sure.

One more thing, does Chris Pratt know the exact time that the volcano is going to go Krakatoa?

Will there be a contextual scene where he's standing next to a red timer readout slapped to the Volcano's incline?

So how long until one of these movies gets made with scientifically accurate feathered dinosaurs?

    And no roaring dinosaurs.

Didn't they explain that in Jurassic World? That the park doesn't want realistic dinosaurs and that they've been deliberately tampering with the DNA this whole time because they care more about entertainment than science and they think park guests will be disappointed if they come to see dinosaurs and get a bunch of giant birds instead of godzilla creatures?

"Nothing in Jurassic World is natural, we have always filled gaps in the genome with the DNA of other animals. And if the genetic code was pure, many of them would look quite different. But you didn't ask for reality, you asked for more teeth."

Would love to see them just go back and remaster the original Jurassic Park by updating all the dinosaur models to have feathers. Too bad that's not financially viable and maybe not even technically possible.

Heh, that's a good cop out.

I find it fascinating how long public perception takes to catch up with scientific discoveries.

You lose dramatic possibilities if your T Rex becomes a scavenging non-running oversized canary that can't roar.
