Crud. I saw this today without meaning to. I wasn't even on a movie site.

Set your computer's clock to 7:38 AM and the door will open.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

Yeh...I was a little let down.

I hope whatever is revealed after that is a doozie.

Yes, it's just an empty locker with a note.

I have no idea how it was figured out...I'd like to say it was me, but no, it wasn't.

Hmm, the 7:38 trick doesn't work on my computer. Maybe it's because I'm on a mac? What does the note say?

    http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=21560

Yes, some scamp leaked our Joker cover image yesterday*. But, though they may take our pictures, they will never take our, erm, words. The cover is just the beginning.

In an exclusive interview Empire sat down on the set of The Dark Knight with Heath Ledger, aka The Joker, as well as the rest of the cast and crew, to talk about bringing the greatest villain in comic book (and now cinema) history to the screen again.

"I definitely feared it," says Ledger of taking a role that every fanboy around the world demands to see done right. "Although anything that makes me afraid I guess excites me at the same time. I don’t know if I was fearless, but I certainly had to put on
a brave face and believe that I have something up my sleeve. Something different...”

This is not your Jack Nicholson or Cesar Romero Joker. The new incarnation of the character is cruel and psycho to the core. And getting into that mindset meant Ledger marinading himself in nothing but Joker before shooting.

"It’s a combination of reading all the comic books I could that were relevant to the script and then just closing my eyes and meditating on it," he says. "I sat around in a hotel room in London for about a month, locked myself away, formed a little diary and experimented with voices — it was important to try to find a somewhat iconic voice and laugh. I ended up landing more in the realm of a psychopath — someone with very little to no conscience towards his acts. He’s just an absolute sociopath, a cold-blooded, mass-murdering clown, and Chris has given me free rein. Which is fun, because there are no real boundaries to what The Joker would say or do. Nothing intimidates him, and everything is a big joke"

I'm really loving everything I have seen and heard of Ledger as the Joker.

I just wish he didn't have such a "comics are for dorks and I'd never respect them" attitude.

He doesn't. He's read nearly every single Batman comic just to prepare for his role.
    Sure why not?

THE DISASTER ARTIST (James Franco) - 7

    What?

I very, VERY distinctly remember several interviews before he started making the film, talking about how ridiculous comic books are, how he cannot take comics or their readers seriously, and pretty much how he's doing it for the money.

I even posted the articles on the old forum and was pretty pissed about it.

Did you just read the last article? It says that he spent hours, trapped in a hotel room, mastering the voice and reading comics with the Joker in it to prepare.

    Yes he says this now.

But when it was first announced he got the role, he DID bash comics and the people who read them.

    I am not imagining this.

I think you are misremembering. I've read many interviews saying that he hates comic book MOVIES, and that based on what he's seen in Spiderman, X-Men, etc, he didn't want to be involved with them (until he saw Batman Begins and was convinced that it could be a fun role to take on), but he never said he hates comic books or their fans.

And who cares if he did anyway. Tom Jane was the same before he did The Punisher. Now he writes his own comics.

While Heath Ledger looks like The Joker, especially due to an award worthy looking makeup job, who cares? Nolan can't direct.

I'm actually kinda with you on this one. The Prestige was pants and Batman Begins, balls. Insomnia had a good lead performance, and once I saw past the sensational structure of Memento, I didn't much care for it.
