It's shown here every Saturday morning. I remember thinking to myself, people made cartoon over that!? But then again, as a kid, I used to be hyped up by more inane thing than spinning tops.Quoting number8 (view post)

So Bleach really did just stop its Wako Mundo arc to do the new captain arc? And with absolutely no aftermath to the new captain arc, we're just jumping right back into the Wako Mundo plot?
I think this qualifies as a WTF?

I've been reading the manga of Bleach so I'm a bit ahead of the anime but at this point it's just gotten too dumb. I went to an anime con and went specifically to a bleach panel and said "They should end it the series with this arc." All of the fanboys nearly killed me but it's true, this arc was such a good ending and now it's into weirdness. I think the New Captain arc was just filler though they didn't need it cause the manga has finished the Wako Mundo arc.
Bumping this to say that FLCL is incredible. Such an acid trip of a show. I read that it was one of the main inspirations for Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Sure why not?

Anybody seen Eden of the East? I just flew through the 11 episodes over the last two days and it's pretty interesting. I'm glad I knew there was two follow up movies before I watched the series because I would have been let down by the ending but I can't wait to see what's next. I'll probably start the first followup movie tomorrow and then it looks like the final movie comes out here in the US on dvd in august.

Yeah, it's definitely well animated and enjoyable. The first movie didn't really progress things all that much though and I've heard the second film is actually a huge let down narratively. Still, hoping for the best.Quoting EyesWideOpen (view post)

Me too. It doesn't even seem like they scratched the surface with what they could have done with such a neat premise they definitely could have gotten 20+ episodes out it.Quoting Qrazy (view post)

I'm about to watch: Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone either today or tomorrow. Is there a series I should watch first? Or is this a stand alone, four part movie?
It is a stand alone 4 film series, but only the first two films have been made.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
It is a remake of the Neon Genesis series but personally I say just watch the films and forget the series. The narrative has been streamlined and the animation quality is sooo much better.

Thanks. I'm looking forward to them.
Yeah, the first film is pretty much exactly the same as the series, only without much of the slower moments of reflection and anxiety. It's even framed almost exactly the same, but the animation quality is fantastic. Not that the series had bad animation - quite the opposite - but the films look as expensive as they actually were.
Do not listen to Qrazy. The series is magnificent and should be watched. I loved the animation.

i began watching cowboy bebop, which is the first anime series i've watched. i just finished ballad of fallen angels, which was quite something to say the least.
That is my favorite episode of the series and quite possibly my favorite episode of everything ever, if not then easily in the top 3.
so it's all downhill from here? thanks. :PQuoting Thirdmango (view post)
"Oh my God." Second time I'm saying that this week. First breaking bad and now I just finished the 18th episode of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
Heh. Just finished the original run of NGE. There was some really awesome stuff in there. But man, looking into what happened this show really is

Now I'm going to watch the death and rebirth part.
Edit: Death and Rebirth was better. Still a really weird show.
About five episodes into this Durarara and I still really have no idea what it's about.

About five episodes deep into Devil May Cry. I like it. Not a homerun, but pretty cool so far. Also started the new Casshern.
Has anyone watched the new Avengers series? Because its freakin' great.
i finally finished bebop. and while i liked it a great deal i'm not quite ready to agree it's the best thing ever. i could see myself appreciating it more on a rewatch. i think pierrot le fou will have to go down as my favorite episode.
i moved on to FLCL and... what the fuck.
