Qrazy, I'd love to see a list of your favorite anime series. Just in case there's something I'm missing.

I posted a list on the first page I think but it's definitely out of date. I'll edit it and repost in the next couple days.Quoting Thirdmango (view post)

I am a HUGE Yoko Kanno fanboy. I've heard almost everything she ever wrote, and I'll definitely see anything she scores.Quoting Qrazy (view post)

Um, those who can access Hulu can watch Masaaki Yuasa's new television series, The Tatami Galaxy streaming with English subtitles a mere 8 hours after it airs in Japan. Holy shit.

So yeah I'm also liking Tatami Galaxy although I'm hoping the redundancy angle will work itself out and/or advance in the near future in some sort of compelling fashion. Although knowing Yuasa I'm sure it will.

In just 3 half hour episodes, the formula has established itself so firmly that the show can confidently abbreviate it and is already making with the possibly 4th-wall-breaking references to it. I'm interested to see where it goes. It's a joy to watch so far. I'm curious to see where it goes from here, since the show seems to be signaling that there should be some variation on this as we go forward.
Apparently it's based on a novel.
Watching episodes a few hours after they air in Japan is pretty exciting. Not having to wait for a fansub group to get their shit together and get delayed by writing a paper or some shit is great.
Yeah that's what I mean, I get the sense that the show is going to go Mindgame on us in a 'choose to break past your fate' kind of way.Quoting Sycophant (view post)

Indeed, it does seem that way.
Goodness, Yuasa's shows are pretty as fuck.
I'm thinking about this show a lot throughout the week. It still hasn't really deviated from its formula (episode 6 of 11 airs tomorrow!), but it's still giving me lots to think about. I like what it's doing and I swear I could just look at it all day.
Gonna start up the other simulcasting-on-Hulu show House of Five Leaves this week, I think. It's allegedly pretty good.
Hoping Funimation licensing this block leads to DVD releases of these shows.
Popped in a couple episodes of Kemonozume the other night. It's one of the few series I enjoy picking episodes out of just to watch one-at-a-time outside of an entire series rewatch. It's by no means flawless, but moment-to-moment (for the most part), it's pretty fabulous.
Think I'm gonna start a rewatch of Kaiba soon, because for the life of me, I can't remember how it ended, though I remember its first half in vivid detail.
Did you see his Genius Party short? It was pretty good also, it's on youtube. I'm also up to date on Tatami. I share your sentiments about it.Quoting Sycophant (view post)

Haven't started House of 5 Leaves yet. But I think I will tomorrow.
Tatami Galaxy is taking some interesting turns the last few episodes. I think there are only 2 left. Pretty sure this series is great.
If you're not watching it, you're wrong (this sentence, unlike almost everything I've posted in this thread, is not directed at Qrazy.).
Have any of you watched Mushi-shi? The first episode was quite good.
Yeah Mushishi is great, wonderful atmosphere.

Yes - it's very good. Very slow and mellow, with great atmosphere and music. Katsuhiro Otomo's live action adaptation is also worth checking out.Quoting Thirdmango (view post)
good endorsements, I'll continue watching it. The first episode was quite relaxing.
Just watched the first 3 and last 3 episodes of B Gata H Kei. The first episode was the best but by the third episode is was very straight forward everything they would do in the series so I just read some synopsis and just went on to the last 3. It was okay, but nothing special.
I watched Planetes recently which started off slowly but picked up to become something fairly special.
Also rewatching Cowboy Bebop with the girlfriend.

I watched Darker Than Black. It was okay, nothing special.
Has anyone seen the Beyblade anime? Quite possible one of the most nonsensical cartoons I've ever seen.
And I had to review one of these travesties.
