Still haven't got to Attack on Titan. But Ping Pong is probably my favorite show since Yuasa's last show, The Tatami Galaxy.

Three episodes in, and it's amazing. Totally reminds me of Macross mixed with Wings of Honneamise and Gundam: War in the Pocket in the way it mixes mech stuff with hard science fiction space opera.

Im watching Berserk: The Golden Age Arc 1 - The Egg of the King (on Netflix). So is this just a cliffnotes version of the series? Is it redone or just taken straight from the show? Its been too long since Ive seen the series, I dont remember it looking quite like this.

Berserk: The Golden Age Arc is a series of films, the first part of an overall effort to adapt the entire Berserk manga series. This is from wikipedia. So yeah this is a new thing since the old anime series ended way before concluding the manga's run.

It looks different not just because the original anime adaptation was 15 years before, but because the movie series uses a heavy amount of CG (which really doesn't look that good in a lot of places).

If you haven't yet, you MUST READ the manga for the complete Golden Age. My god. One of the greatest, most disturbing, darkest, depraved, and awesome things I've ever read. A total masterpiece of violence, horror, and fantasy.

Yeah - lot's of digital panning and scanning, a trend in modern anime I can't stand. Berserk might have been one of the last great series to not utilize these digital techniques.

I have the remastered Beserk series set. Its so awesome.

Did any of you watch Sword Art Online (its on Netflix)...I was surprised how much that show grabbed me. Quite enjoyed it.

I watched the first season. It was for the most part good, but it falters down at the second half. On that stretch the villains are frankly too over the top and kinda terrible.
I've not watched the second season, though.

I agree, I wish they wouldve wrapped it up with the first game. That being said, the ending of game two was pretty crazy.

I've been meaning to get back into watching some anime shows. The last one I watched and really enjoyed was Kids on the Slope. I watched a few episodes of Attack on Titan and didn't care for it and just watched the first episode and a half of Kill La Kill and turned it off because it's gross. I'm thinking of trying Terror in Resonance or Ping Pong next.

Finished this show. Despite losing a little of it's early steam, this turned out to be the funniest anime I've seen in some time. I hope they do a second season.
