Why get rid of the Wolfman?
Welp, Colin Trevorrow is officially directing Episode IX.
At least we get a Lord & Miller-helmed Star Wars movie the year before.

Not sure we have a thread yet for Post Episode IX Star Wars discussion, but there's a rumor going around on why we haven't had any Obi-Wan Spin-Off movies. Apparently Disney has plans for Obi-Wan in the cannon movies (Episode X, XI and XII).
Wait, that isn't how I interpreted this at all:Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
I took this to mean that Obi-Wan could very easily be involved in Episodes 8 and 9 in some capacity, and as a result this possible solo film with him wouldn't happen until the current saga trilogy (their only officially planned Episodes) had wrapped up.Quoting Anthony Breznican of EW
The more overt potential meaning to this would be the theory that he []

You're right Henry. I misread the rumor. The "beyond" part is where I got confused.
Interesting.

We don't plan to recreate her, because she dies.
Is the only way to do it. Just have her character die suddenly, unexpectedly, and move on. They have plenty of time to rewrite the third installment. Recasting or CGI will be a huge distraction and demonstrate a lack of creative inventiveness.

Yep. Fold her loss into the emotion and story. Star Trek Beyond handled this tastefully with the death of Leonard Nimoy.Quoting transmogrifier (view post)
Hell, you could kick of ep9 with a grand funeral honoring her.
Have Snoke end up being Leia.

Rumor of the day: Unaltered Star Wars trilogy to hit Blu-ray for 40th anniversary
Sorry, those who have started a new family Christmas tradition. Episode 9 release date is 5/24/19.

Will not be going. That is a fact.
Oh haha. It's in May! Not December. I saw "24" and was like, NOPE.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
This is weird. Does this mean the 3rd anthology will come out in Christmas 19? Are they planning two Star Wars movies a year soon??
Happy birthday to ME!
Lots of others have pointed it out, but they originally dated The Last Jedi for May 26th of this year and then bumped it to Christmas so I won't be shocked when the same happens here.

They're probably waiting to see if their research shows enthusiasm, ticket sales, and merchandise purchasing can be sustained through a second anthology film, but this seems inevitable.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
Someone in California right now is getting ready to submit a treatment for what Disney is going to put forward as the first cinematic subseries in the Star Wars EU franchise.
Thought this was pretty neat. A fan-cut video that tells the story of the prequel trilogy better than the three films:
