That doesn't explain why he's so secretive after the movie's been made. Is he just chronically paranoid that Paramount would say, "Oh no, everyone knows the villain. PULL ALL STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS PRINTS FROM THEATERS"?
Also, his Superman script deserved to be cancelled.

There's additional rumors that Paramount wants Star Trek 3 by their 50th anniversary in 2016 and are likely to fast track it. We may see JJ drop this and go right to ST3.

Rumors going around that this is behind schedule and will start filming in late January. I don't think Disney ever said anything about it, but I think everyone assumed it would come out in May 2015 like every other Star Wars movie, but this is likely to be a December 2015 release.
