Unfortunately, I don't have much faith in this upcoming movie, only finishing it because of the trilogy.
I have very little faith in it as well, and will similarly be watching it solely to see the trilogy wrapped, and out of sheer curiosity to see how JJ manages to unfuck everything he was trying to set up with 7, but which Johnson proceeded to completely disregard. I imagine there's going to be a lot of retconning going on with this movie.

Either way though, I'm in a similar "fuck it" mode going into 9. I'm no longer invested in these characters or this world, and after 9, I have no intention or desire of ever watching anything new Star Wars that comes out afterwards. This is gonna be where it ends for me, 'cause I'm completely spent on this franchise. It shoulda just been 6 damn movies.
