I haven't seen enough to really say. Rear Window and Vertigo are both 9's, though.

Its a well made, slow burning thriller with some really good performances. I love its dark brand of neo-noir, and how the movie works out in the end as a sort of living nightmare. People who complain about Burn After Reading or No Country for Old Men being too nasty clearly forgot about Blood Simple.

I found it to be quite boring, and populated with characters whose fates I didn't give two shits about.

It also has one of the most uncharmismatic leading man performances I've ever seen.

I just don't like it, aside from finding its visual style interesting.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

Oh, I can think of many.

Kubrick for one -- everything from The Killing through Eyes Wide Shut except, possibly, Spartacus.

I saw Love Affair, or the Case of the Missing Switchboard Operator last night. It's every bit as good as W.R., but not quite as ambitious. It almost looks like a rough draft of W.R.

It's not one of my favorites. It's obviously an important film in that it marked a decisive turn in Godard's work towards a more journalistic approach to filmmaking, but as an experience, I find it dreadfully slow.

Strangely enough I found myself caring about all involved, even the slimmy murderous hitman.

It also has one of the most uncharmismatic leading man performances I've ever seen.
Meh, I've never placed an extreme value on acting. Unless its so utterly awful or amazing, I rarely mention it in my reviews.

I just don't like it, aside from finding its visual style interesting.
    Fair enough.

Now someone not liking Fargo, that I can't really wrap my brain around. Its easily one of the best movies of the 90s.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I am impatient of all misery in others that is not mad. Thou should'st go mad, blacksmith; say, why dost thou not go mad? How can'st thou endure without being mad? Do the heavens yet hate thee, that thou can'st not go mad?
