Yeah, first two episodes were pretty lame. I'm beginning to lose interest. I'm always going to compare this to I Claudius however hard I try not to and this one doesn't come close to that one's greatness.Quoting Benny Profane (view post)
Lose... interest? Does not compute at all.
Fantastic. Varys had me rolling.

Finished out the first season in 2 days, and we'll likely finish the second season as well by the end of the week. I think the fast turnaround for each episode in the marathon viewing masks whatever racial/sexual ideological issues that are embedded in the beginning because it has such narrative momentum.
Arya is the main awesomesauce from those I'd never seen before. Digging her arc, though I do hope that femininity is shown in a positive non-sexual way at some point.
The Boat People - 9
The Power of the Dog - 7.5
The King of Pigs - 7
After showing lots of promise in season 1 I've given up on this series at the next to last episode in season 2. Just not for me.
Did you watch "Blackwater" or stop before it? If you stopped before it, I'd recommend going at least one more to see one of the better episodes of television ever. If you gave up after watching, then, yeah, it's just not your bag.Quoting Yxklyx (view post)

I'm starting to make my way through Season 3.

They're replacing Ed Skrein's Daario Naharis... with Michiel Huisman? Nothing against him, but he's the obvious weakest link on "Treme".
Weird. They've recast characters before, but this might be the first one that even casual viewers will notice. I can guarantee you that a lot of people will think he's a new character.
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
It'd be interesting to see what the reasons were. I mean, I've found that Skrein is supposed to be in "The Tunnel", but Stephen Dillane is bloody starring on the same show, and he's still commited to GOT.
...and now there's a THIRD Ser Gregor Clegane on the show.
Yeah, like with most HBO shows, once you get past the introductions of the characters, and figure out who's who, it really gets going.
Only took a year for me. Time to catch up.
And now just finished season 2.
It was a struggle. It all kind of slogs around for me, and the most interesting for me are the spots that are far away from King's Landing. Dany, Jon Snow, and Arya are my favorites, but they generally only had 1-2 bits an episode, if that sometimes. Dany's position especially died out in the latter half.
Consensus seems to be that the third season is the best. And I really want to see what the Red Wedding is all about.
By the way, I really like that we divide the TV Seasons out now. I'm not coming across any spoilers.
Holy fuck. Just finished Episode 9 Season 3- !
So did we, just now. Knew it was coming as I'd known the basic cast of book five and did some deduction, but the fatalism of it all is breathtaking. Time to see how the season wraps up now.

I had no idea Naomi Watts was in the spin-off. That makes me slightly interested in the series.
I get nausea just thinking about GoT anymore. Lindsay Ellis' post mortem was a definitive word on it for me.

Seemed weird in the first place. Thousands of years prior to the setting/story we care about? What?
I'm in the minority in that I don't think the last season was all that bad. Yeah a bit disappointing but that's about it. I just finished reading the 4th book and I think they did an incredible job putting this on TV.
