Finished out the first season of Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries. The last two episodes had a more interesting visual design and feel to them (to be fair, wolf faces always help), luxuriating in tension in a way that the rest of the season didn't. Jack, the police detective, could probably save a lot of time by just letting Miss Fisher aid more, but the romances, flirtations, and general mood are all quite fun. Excited that the showrunners have slowed down on Phryne's affairs, at least with exotic types, so that Jack can loom as a more logical option.

Really, though, it's all about Dot and the constable. That stuff makes the series.
Agreed that the last two episodes of season two really ratcheted up the tension. And although I think Phryne and Jack have great chemistry, I think they would be terrible for each other. They want very different things out of a relationship, and I think they would make each other miserable.

    Dot and Hugh are adorable.

I'm still wandering through season 2 when I have time, which is rarely at the moment.

Finally watched the pilot of Orphan Black. One of the more memorable pilots I've seen in that the premise of the show is as elusive to its protagonist as the audience. It just hits the ground and we're riding along in a more intriguing and mysterious Ringer setup.
I have mixed feelings about whether or not the show is "as good" once it becomes more clear what exactly is going on (stripping some of the mystery away.) Sometimes I feel like the characters and atmosphere sustain it, and sometimes I feel wistful about the "what on earth???" tone at the beginning.

The second season might be awesome, but I could see it imploding, too.

It doesn't help that there are some not so hot actors playing the villains once they're revealed.

If only Tatiana Maslany could play EVERY character, right?

    Except Felix. He's great.

The actress that plays her mother is also good.

We will keep Felix, Mrs. S., Raj for eye candy, and whoever they got to play Alison because she's awesome.

Okay, so this super fun site:

    http://graphtv.kevinformatics.com

shows you imdb ratings for individual episodes of shows so you can see which seasons are most popular, which episodes are worst, etc.

Anyway, the lowest rated episode of Breaking Bad-- by a rather large margin-- is Fly. And I thought that episode was great. What.

Oh, and apparently Where the Wild Things Are is considered the worst episode of Buffy. In my head that episode dukes it out with Beer Bad. Either way... awful.

It's imdb ratings. It's pretty damn near useless.

I looked up a bunch of shows, and although there might be some quibbles, I'd agree with most of what came out. Not that, though.

Statistically it does represent a rough sketch of reality, but really falls apart in details.

I'm speaking of imdb in general, of course.

4 episodes into Season 2 of DS9 and already this is a major, major improvement.

Yeah with all the tv I've watched I've considered going through and rating all individual episodes but it's just so hard.

I'm glad you're sticking with ds9. Also agreed that s7 of tng is so strange for having so many amazing and terrible eps. I need to pick back up my rewatch of ds9 and get into the really good episodes.

I watched all of the Babylon 5 TV films recently. Two were bad, the other four were solid enough but came nowhere close to the highs of the show. Some of you should really watch the show.
The Princess and the Pilot - B-
    Playtime (rewatch) - A
    The Hobbit - C-
    The Comedy - D+
Kings of the Road - C+
    The Odd Couple - B
    Red Rock West - C-
    The Hunger Games - D-
    Prometheus - C
    Tangled - C+

I couldn't watch the films, and couldn't finish S5. Four seasons are as close to perfect as possible.

    Kroll Show finale was glorious.

I knew the Spring Breakers-finale riffing was coming (thanks to the pre-cap special at the top of the season), I just didn't expect it to tie together so many storylines so perfectly and hysterically.

So yeah, I'm just vouching for everything non-Tosh related on CC at this point. (Maybe not Workaholics either. Not that I dislike it or it hasn't made me laugh in the past, but it just never clicked with me as much as everything else we're mentioning.)

There's three Community left, two each for Rick and Morty and Bob's Burgers, Kill la Kill and Samurai Flamenco both end tomorrow, and Girls ended Sunday. What am I supposed to do with living?
