All right, I've finished 7 episodes and I'll probably stick with DS9. If only because I really like the character Odo, whose existance defies the laws of physics, lol. Was also put off a bit by the Dax murder trial episode, which rang so close to the TNG episode where Data was on trial that it may as well have been a remake.

So yeah, AMC just officially announced that their adaptation of Preacher with Rogen and Goldberg is happening. If you're worried about those two writing, though, they're actually just doing the pilot. The showrunner for it will actually be Breaking Bad's Sam Catlin.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

It's baffling, isn't it? She's writing and producing as well. So bizarre.

I'm excited because it means all three first seasons will be on Netflix/Amazon and I can finally watch them.

SO happy I caught up with Hannibal, especially closer to now (a couple of weeks ago) than when it aired because the wait would've killed me. Easily my favourite show on network TV now, and not only because it's insane it can even get away with being show on NBC at 10 pm.

Pure morbid bliss. Insanely absorbing and terrifyingly ethereal, with visuals and dramatic moments that continue to pop in my head and stun me every now and then.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

...am I to take it that you haven't seen the three first seasons of Orphan Black, Hannibal or The Americans? Because you would love ALL OF THEM.

I'm making my way through the series. Loved it as a kid, and still loving it. I'm surprised by how many episodes seem to be about successful white men loosing control of their lives, or loosing the power of their masculinity. Definitely something that was a fear of the times.

The Americans and Hannibal are excellent. Now that I think about it, I haven't watched the season finale of Hannibal.

The thing I noticed, watching the first several episodes of the series, was how many were about aging men having to face their own mortality (a hypochondriac sells his soul for immortality, a man is transported to the idylic town of his childhood, a movie star gets lost in her old movies, Ed Wynn literally faces the angel of death). I think Rod Serling had a fixation.

Just watched the worst DS9 episode so far, called The Vortex. An interesting idea, but MAN, the dialogue was clinkier than a pair of shoes in a dryer, culminating with Quark exclaiming, "You fool!" like some kind of cheesy supervillain.

I'm officially saturated with too many quality television options. I'm happy this day has come, but it's frustrating. Might need to actually dump some shows. Really want to start Orphan Black and True Detective.

Really? I have nothing to watch except the new House of Cards. What are you watching?

On a related note I watched the first episode of The Crazy Ones, so terrible. I can't believe any of the writers genuinely thought it was a good idea to make a non-critical show about advertising agents who produce content for Mcdonalds. Gross.
