I was going to start watching the sixth season of Sons of Anarchy until I realized most of the episodes are about an hour long.
What the fuck, show? You're not that good.

Only seen as far as the Christmas episode of Rick and Morty, but it was a pretty fantastic one.
Also, this happened last night:
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:
Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
Diva (Beineix, 1981)
Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)
So when the fuck did pay movie channels start adding bottom of the screen advertising for original programming?
Starz keeps showing thier Black Sails graphic in the middle of movies. So annoying.
The Winter Olympics new rule on the latest Bill Maher was one of the best I've seen.
latest rick and morty is definitely the best one yet
"cronenberg world"
Yeh I loved that episode.
In other news, did anyone know there was a From Dusk Till Dawn series in the works?
What an ending. Haven't laughed this hard in ages.Quoting Acapelli (view post)

Baby-Mania still in full-swing during Season 6 of Star Trek: TNG. Four of the characters were turned into KIDS! LOVELY ADORABLE CUTESY-WOOTSY KIIIIIIDS!!! God, I hope this isn't par for the course for the rest of the show's run.
Quoting Acapelli (view post)All of this and echoing Duke. Watched all of the six episodes two at a time in the last few days... Man, this show just gets it, and it's glorious. The ending of this one was indeed hilarious and haunting, but I love just as much how the earlier episodes all end on such different but almost equally incredible and memorable notes.Quoting EvilShoe (view post)
It's like a perfect mix of Gravity Falls, Doctor Who, Adventure Time, Back to the Future, and probably a bunch of other stuff I love and can't pinpoint, but of course R&M still manages to be its own thing, because it's just awesome like that.
Might be time to give it its own thread. It's definitely a keeper.

And an unexpected plot twist: it's doing well with the ratings. Show is really fantastic.
I heard about it via Twitter. I imagine any show will cut out the fact that one of the Gecko brothers had rapist tendencies to say the least.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
PS: I just watched the trailer for it. Yep it seems they loosely follow the movie. It doesn't look half bad actually.

Critics/fans of Fringe, I'm editing a collection of new essays on post-9/11 literature and media. I received an essay concerning Fringe. Does the show deal with the season one reveal in interesting ways? Does the entirety of the show seek to engage 9/11 culture significantly, or is it a brief throwaway?
The Boat People - 9
The Power of the Dog - 7.5
The King of Pigs - 7
While the s1 reveal is not much more than a visual reference, the [] storyline it introduces features a society controlled by a militaristic government fighting what they perceive are malicious attacks aimed at the total destruction of their world by a remote and largely unknown enemy. There's loss of human rights, privacy, rampant military spending and secrecy, fallout from the large number of casualties and coverups...
So sometimes I'm like, "Universe, it seems like you haven't made a television show specifically for me in awhile. What's up with that?"
And the universe was like, "Uh, how about this Australian show about a gorgeous, rich flapper in the 1920's who eschews marriage so that she can drive stunning antique cars, seduce lovely men, fly planes and solve murders mostly by showing up and being fabulous?"
And I'm like, "Thanks Universe, I owe you a solid."
Anyway, Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is stylish, silly, and fun.
...and the milk's in me.
Last night I watched the first two episodes of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. I have heard mixed opinions. Based only upon the first two episodes, I really do not like Sisko. I'm also a little surprised at some of the really clunky acting. I'll give it a few more episodes, but this may put a stop to my initial idea of watching TNG, DSN, Voyager, and Enterprise in order.
This... sounds wonderful. And on InstantView.Quoting Mara (view post)

If you only give it a few more episodes you might stop. Like TNG the first season is by far the worst. Unfortunately the first season of DS9 is even worse then the first season of TNG. They really haven't figured out any of what they want to do at this point. I'm going through the series for my 4th or 5th time and I'm up to the 3rd season and it's only now starting to really hit it's stride. The 4th season is when Worf joins the series and he brings a lot of cohesion to the show. If you can make it through, there will be a couple of diamonds in the rough, and if you can eventually make it all the way, DS9 ends up with some better seasons then TNG. The last especially is insanely epic. Also be warned episode 10 of the first season is my least favorite episode of the series.Quoting Spun Lepton (view post)
Having Hulu-Plus now I decided to go through and find a whole bunch of series that I wanna watch that aren't on the main page. I'm watching the first season of Burning Love because of that, Mark Orlando's season. I watched the first season of Booth At the End. It was crazy and not at all what I expected but still really cool. And I watched the first two episodes of the Shield, I wasn't expecting too much from that first episodes but then the final moments of that first episode, wowzas, that's quite a hook to the series.
