By the end of this week, I'm going to begin a concentrated effort to watch all of The Dick Van Dyke Show. I'm a little excited.

I liked Schram more than Howard, and the show was much better during the first 3 seasons, but Howard is so cute. How can you say such harsh things about someone that cute?
You'd ban me if you knew how I really felt about her.

The annoyance factor kills all semblance of "cute" for me.

Sycophant, you are in for a wonderful treat. I have seen every episode of The Dick Van Dyke Show and only disliked a handful of them. Mary Tyler Moore was adorable.

Does anyone here watch Top Gear? It's a very entertaining car show. If you like cars (or not ), give the show a chance because it's awesome. The camerawork is fantastic too.

This season is brilliant so far. They raced across the North Pole, found one of the most beautiful driving roads in the world, crossed the English channel in their homemade amphibious cars and traveled through Botswana's deserts and salt lakes in their cheap two-wheel drive cars. And these were just the first 5 episodes.

The whole season 1 finale is brilliant by the way. Best Easy Rider-homage.. ever.
Another favorite episode of mine is the one with the Scooby gang.

I hope Dirty Sexy Money doesn't get cancelled after the first season. I haven't been this hooked on a television show in years. I know it's probably way too early to think about cancellation, but the show is an absolutely perfect guilty pleasure and with a splendid cast, too.

And did you notice how at least 90% of the greatest American television shows were produced by (or aired on) ABC? Think Twin Peaks, My So-Called Life, Felicity, Alias, Desperate Housewives, Once and Again, Lost (even though I haven't seen a single episode, everybody seems to love it) and many others.
China Moon (John Bailey, 1994) (2/5)
Lions for Lambs (Robert Redford, 2007) (1/5)
Gone Baby Gone (Ben Affleck, 2007) (4/5)
Shoot 'em Up (Michael Davis, 2007) (3.5/5)
    Waitress (Adrienne Shelly, 2007) (4/5)
    Hairspray (Adam Shankman, 2007) (4.5/5)
He Was a Quiet Man (Frank Cappello, 2007) (4/5)
    Bobby (Emilio Estevez, 2006) (3/5)
Across the Universe (Julie Taymor, 2007) (3.5/5)
I Know Who Killed Me (Chris Sivertson, 2007) (2/5)

I wouldn't put a single one of those shows on my top ten. Granted, I haven't seen Twin Peaks yet. Possibly Alias, but that show significantly declined during its fourth season on.

I started watching the show late and thus have not yet seen Season 1. I must rectify that soon. Yeah the Scobby Doo gang spoof episode is pretty funny.

Yeah, I was going to say, only one of those shows could be considered for a "greatest" anything, and it's not Lost.

I'm done with Cracker: Series One (there are only 3 episodes) and I loved it. I hate it when a show is wonderful and there are only a handful of seasons or episodes available. I'm so greedy.

I think I'll try to finish up The Sopranos since the series finale DVD for Season 6 came out recently. I've been procrastinating ever since I finished Season 5 months ago.

Should I bring my ratings thread here? I'm already doing it at three forums. I could make it four.

I'll participate, assuming it's a participation type thing. If not, I'll pretend to participate in my head while holding a grudge against you.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I stopped watching after 3 episodes. You hit it right on the head. Watching other couples fight constantly doesn't equate to compelling television. I have no regrets leaving that one behind.

I actually gave up after 3 also, but yesterday I found a clip online of a pretty ballsy sex scene from the latest episode. Again, my penis got the better of me and I decided to watch a random episode on demand today. My god, what a tedious show.

Which leads me to say: HBO needs to do something quick, because Showtime is absolutely killing them.

The recent Showtime announcement was a show about the Harlem drug trade in the 70s with Forest Whitaker. HBO's newest show is a porn star giving tips on sex toys. Come on, man.

    Where's that Preacher TV show?

HBO also has that vampire one by Alan Ball. Hopefully that'll get things going.

They also have a Song About Fire and Ice (i think that's the name) - a SciFi series coming soon. In the meantime, The Wire final season is coming within the next month or two. I'd say they'll be doing fine.

A Song of Ice and Fire is a LOTR-type fantasy series, not Sci Fi.

And I doubt it'll do that well, actually. They're already planning it as a 7 season show (each novel being a season). I don't think they'll get there.

Showtime went through a period where it lagged behind HBO. Now its caught up. But that doesn't mean that HBO can't become great again. What goes up must come down and vice versa.

    'Heroes' Creator Apologizes to Fans

I'm glad he recognizes some of the show's problems. I stopped watching after the third episode and I'm not sure if I'll finish the season. But I'm willing to try the series again in the third season. I hope he can fix the problems in time.

So, apparently there's a direct-to-video Dead Like Me movie currently in production with Henry Ian Cusick (Desmond from LOST) taking over for Mandy Patinkin. I love the original series, but without Patinkin this could be a lost cause. I also don't see that Bryan Fuller is involved (the creator of the original series, as well as Wonderfalls and Pushing Daisies), so I can't really get very excited for this.

Good! He addressed most of my non-dialogue complaints about the second season. At least he knows.

I just might check out the third volume or whatever now.
