Okay, admittedly the above set of quotes are completely wrong, but, eh. It's not like the Numberwang sketches are anything but pure nonsense.
Soooo ... I finished The Shield. Quite the ending. Whew. Gotta change my underpants now.

Did anyone watch the Super Chef Battle (or whatever they called it) on Sunday with Michelle Obama and the White House garden ingredients? My sister and I totally wanted to watch, but the baby was uncooperative. We're going to try again on Saturday with one of the reruns.

Oh, and last night I dreamed that "The Big Bang Theory" was reconceived as an animated series by the xkcd guy and it was much better.
By the by, 8 encouraged me to adapt a modified version favorite tv couples thread into an article for his webiste, and I think it turned out very well. If I was the sort of person who whored out my own writing, I would post a link here. And we all know that I am.

There is absolutely no way it could not.Quoting Mara (view post)

I did watch it! I liked it a lot. But then, I'm a sucker for Iron Chef and its American counterpart.Quoting Mara (view post)
Emeril was surprisingly good at thinking on his feet (especially when he had one rather unfortunate food oopsie).
There was one particular dish Batali made that looked ridiculously amazing.
Going to start on Mad Men.
Batali always makes stuff that make me wish I were judging.
Kat Cora does not. I think she was put on as an Iron Chef as a cynical way to draw the "suburban mom" demographic, and she's not really qualified. Anne Burrell should've been the "female Iron Chef" as far as I'm concerned.

Awesome. Note that it gets progressively better. Do not expect greatness from season 1.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
Yeah, it's a slow burn, and probably the most subtle television show I've ever seen. Glances and pauses are often more important than what is said.Quoting [ETM] (view post)
I'd recommend sticking through the entire first season no matter what. It didn't click for me until I got to the last disc of the first season. I hate to say it now, but it was kind of a chore to watch until then.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
I'm glad to hear this about Mad Men cause I sorta of expected amazing things in the first season and stopped watching cause I wasn't enjoying it.
I would describe the first season of Mad Men as fascinating, but not really engaging. It comes across as very cold and sterile. The second season I started becoming more emotionally involved, and this last season I was cheering and booing and ewwing.
For one thing, I started to really like a few of the characters, and I'd really disliked them the first season. They kinda grow on you.

Got a few episodes behind on Doctor Who, which is embarassing, because they're running about four episodes per year right now.
Anyhoo, I'm on The Water of Mars and I just remembered that I love David Tennant.

David Tennant wouldn't count as crossing over. He's The Doctor.Quoting Glass Co. (view post)

Jack Harkness would go straight for the Doctor. And this sentence makes sense because he's the Doctor.Quoting Mara (view post)
Well. The Water of Mars was astonishingly good. Quite a pick up after the mediocre The Next Doctor.

so i watched the bbc miniseries of adaptation of the day of the triffids
it wasn't completely terrible, but really not good. eddie izzard as a total scumbag was pretty good though and the production values were on par with children of earth
Davies really needed to lay off the "good old" baddies. WoM was good but a bit too silly at times, especially considering the overall tone of the episode.Quoting Mara (view post)
I didn't find it silly.Quoting [ETM] (view post)
However, the first fifteen minutes of The End of Days are quite silly. I'm hoping for a rally.

And tell me what you think of End of Days after you see it.
(I still haven't seen part two, though...)
It's a SONIC SCREWDRIVER, Budo. It can do ANYTHING.Quoting [ETM] (view post)
25 minutes in. It's getting better.

And the randy old grandma from Absolutely Fabulous is on the show playing a randy old grandma! Good times.
