This will suck. I already know it. (Director of Eagle Eye)
Now it will REALLY be a rip off of the Thing meets Event Horizon/Aliens/Doom

I like to think of D.J. Caruso as the director of The Salton Sea.
I like to think of D.J. Caruso as the director who's better equipped to handle this than Uwe Boll.Quoting Skitch (view post)
As opposed to the game which is original all over? But I hear ya Duke. As a movie, this is likely to be far more generic than the game itself. Which was awesome. But why? Purely because of the interactive aspect? Because we've had games based on Alien/s and The Thing too!

Don't get me wrong. I thought the entire game was a complete rip. I ranted somewhere about it in the gaming thread.Quoting Morris Schæffer (view post)
The reason I think they want to do this was because they're already expanding the universe of the series. The game was a hit, they released a prequel Anime which was highly regarded and explained a lot of the back story, now I think they want to take this to the next level, and maybe touch upon some Riddick aspects that worked so well in that fanbase.
Like most VG adaptations, it has potential... let's see where it goes.
Strangely enough, I liked Two for the Money. I'd say I loved his The Shield episodes, but I wouldn't know how much hand he had in them. His career is weird.Quoting Skitch (view post)
Movie Theater DiaryQuoting Donald Glover
What's the movie he did with Paul Walker? Yes, it's garbage, but that Nosferatu-parents abduction scene is awesome.
Running Scared. I completely forgot he did that. I really, really like that flick...mostly because I felt it strayed from most cliches, and was more violent that I was expecting. I guess I was expecting it to be crap, and was surprised...is kinda the point of this little post here.Quoting Ezee E (view post)
Running Scared was Wayne Kramer.
And it was pretty awesome. Maybe not Crank-level modern B-movie awesome, but still a great deal of fun.Quoting Winston* (view post)
As for Caruso, I've only seen Disturbia, which was admittedly more likable than I anticipated, as someone who considered it an abomination to remake Hitchcock's uber-masterpiecre Rear Window as teensploitation.

It was a good rip, i must say. Game is fun to play, tense, with some great visuals and cool ideas (the gravity sections for instance).Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
Movie may work, but i'm always wary of games inspired by movies turning back to movies, it's almost guaranteed being lesser than the source of inspiration.
Nothing is at that level of awesome besides the Crank movies. NOTHING.Quoting Rowland (view post)
