I was surprised to hear they are building a prequel to the games and by casting a young Nathan drake, which I presumed was from the flashback sequences of the third game, is actually going to be the whole movie.

Oh shit. At least we can finally put those annoyingly persistent 'Nathan Fillion is perfect for this' shit to rest.

But really it's nothing if not an unexpected choice. Does that mean they have oodles of confidence? Because they have to want to work towards the moment they'll cast the mature Drake and go full Indiana Jones with this.

Probably part of the math on this is to lock Holland up for multiple movies as he grows into the older Drake. Though he's much too slight to reflect the guy in the games.

He's springy and athletic tho, so I'm sure that was a factor for the action/climbing sequences. He's probably done growing vertically, but he could bulk up a little in time I suppose.

That was fun to watch. Lang's a tougher Sully than the real one, who was more genial, more paternal.

Yeah that was fun to watch. They got a lot right, tho some of Fillion's facial mannerisms were too much Fillion, not enough Drake. I mean, if they did really do a movie with him, I'm sure he'd work hard to get in better/more convincing shape and all that, even if he is possibly too old at this point all things considered. But it's a fun little experiment. Also, the Tigre dude was the pizza guy in TMNT 2! He's one of those "oh that guy"s for me. Seems they were Deadpool testing this to see if it could go further. I wouldn't mind a movie version, as the games are primed for ridiculous over-the-top campy fun.
