I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Indeed he has. Most peculiar. Couldn't get much out of him, but Marcus Brody's coming back.

If they're so dead set on making this, call it Uncharted: The Movie. It'll be just like Indiana Jones, and no will have to feel bad about it not being Ford who continues the role. Plus, we'll actually have a shot at getting a great videogame movie.

Steven Spielberg has told Screen that he intends to make a fifth Indiana Jones film and will never replace Harrison Ford in the title role.

“I don’t think anyone could replace Harrison as Indy, I don’t think that’s ever going to happen,” he said in an interview with Screen International that will be published Friday (Dec 4).

With Ford in his mid-70s, there have been rumours that the whip could be passed on to another actor, with Chris Pratt being one suggested name. But Spielberg firmly denies the speculation.

“It’s certainly not my intention to ever have another actor step into his shoes in the way there have been many actors that have played Spider-Man or Batman. There is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford.”

    So much for Pratt?

Maybe we're coming at this from the wrong angle. Perhaps Spielberg should be let go?

Yeah, I'm curious how much control he has over it. Isn't Indy a Lucasfilm property? Spielberg probably has some sort of co-creator dibs with Lucas, but my assumption would be that Disney could make an Indiana Jones movie with whoever they wanted no matter Spielberg's opinion.

Does Disney have the rights to Indiana Jones? I know it was a Lucasfilm production, but did Lucas sell them the rights to ALL his properties, or just Star Wars?

He did. Disney has the ownership rights to Indiana Jones. BUT. . .Paramount has the distribution rights. So take that however you will.

EDIT: Wait, Paramount reached an agreement with Disney that gave them distribution rights, too. Doy.

Disney owns everything that Lucas owned. But: I doubt Lucas had 100% on Jones, because he and Spielberg created that character together.

Regardless, I don't think Disney or Paramount would blow Spielberg off even if they legally could. He's got too much clout and a past relationship with both studios.

Yeah, and especially since they would obviously prefer to have Spielberg make the movie for them. That said, just wait a few years after Spielberg or Ford passes away and Disney might change their mind.

Ah ok. I actually came in from an even different angle, namely does Spielberg still have it in him to do an Indiana Jones movie? Directors sometimes evolve throughout the decades and this can be seen in the material that they tackle, that they choose to helm as they grow older. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull gave me the idea that Spielberg's heart just wasn't in it, not like with the previous three movies. I'm sure he hasn't lost the chops, but perhaps he's done with Indiana Jones? Hence my feeling that Spielberg's the damaging factor here with this particular franchise. If he's gonna do it, he should commit entirely, or he should let go.

The thing I can't figure: How many more movies do these guys think they have in them?

Spielberg is 68 years old. He has 2 movies in the pipe, and another 3 announced (one of them is Indy 5), through 2017.

Ford's schedule is clear, but he's also 73 years old. A 66 year old Indiana Jones was ridiculous. A 75 year old Indiana Jones will embarrass everyone.
