So it turns out Sita Sings the Blues is being considered a 2009 release because of a minor last-minute theatrical run:

    1. Inglourious Basterds
    2. Martyrs
    3. Sita Sings the Blues
    4. Julia
    5. Adventureland
    6. District 9
    7. Up
    8. Coraline
    9. Cargo 200
    10. Crank: High Voltage

Still have a ridiculous number of movies to catch up with, I'd expect only 3-4 of these to remain on a really developed top ten.
    Letterboxd rating scale:
    The Long Riders (Hill) ***
    Furious 7 (Wan) **½
    Hard Times (Hill) ****½
    Another 48 Hrs. (Hill) ***
    /48 Hrs./ (Hill) ***½
The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec (Besson) ***
    /Unknown/ (Collet-Serra) ***½
    Animal (Simmons) **

Updated. The Top 6 are far ahead of the rest, which are pretty interchangeable.

It's very very horrible, sir. It's one of those things we wish we could disinvent.

Made some changes. And yes, one is from 2007 and two are from 2008 according to imdb. No way seeing them until 2009 except maybe New York or something. They didn't even play Seattle -- where I saw them -- until 2009.

I rearranged things up top. Can't seem to get Where the Wild Things Are out of my head, in a good way. Was also pretty impressed with Paranormal Activity's slow build-up and subtle scares.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

I suppose I'll have to take another look at it, but I thought it was a real disappointment after Kim's first film. The same tight handheld compositions, same kind of story about absent parents. I wish she had tried to do something a little different this time around.

I guess I just keep benefiting from not having seen Kim's first film. Then again, Ozu made very similar films most of his career and I love every damn one of them.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

I don't even live in the US and regardless I'll always go with IMDB years but since clearly everyone else here is going by US release dates I guess I'll make an exception.

    3. Antichrist (Lars von Trier)
    4. Up (Pete Docter and Bob Peterson)

Seeing Blessed at the very bottom makes me glad I didn't trust the strong reviews. Kokkinos' The Book of Revelation was jaw-droppingly horrid.
