    Well the remake of I Spit On Your Grave had rape just like the original did, although granted it wasn't as bad as the original (still pretty bad though). Although granted yeah there probably wouldn't be any in the Evil Dead remake, so I was sort of joking with my post. These days I can't figure out if horror remakes are going to further push the envelope or actually be tamer than the originals.

    BTW, I still don't know why they are remaking The Evil Dead. The whole reason people are fans of the original is because it had Bruce Campbell in it, plus the original had its own unique camera work, and pushes not only the boundaries of good taste (tree rape) but is also rather brutal by late 70s/early 80s standards. The Evil Dead series is a cult oriented series, not something that will result in a successful re-imagining or too obvious carbon copy, updated to 21st century horror movie standards.

    I don't know how to react to this. That shot is kinda iconic, so it's got a certain pull but ... The witch/demon/zombie chick or whatever looks like she could be in just about any modern horror film. In other words, this doesn't really shout "Evil Dead" to me.
