I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Same here. I've read the story somewhere and I think it was during the making of The Abyss, but I can't for the life of me find it on the internets.

I screened Mad Max II as the closing movie of my film club just the other day. Good times.

I'll watch this, of course, but I still don't understand why it's not Mel Gibson.

Not to mention that Cruise also looks late 30's still.

Yeah, as soon as I was typing that I figured I was answering my own question. None on his right mind would put up money to finance a big-budget spectacle if Gibson is on the lead anymore.

That's sad, because I'd rather watch him over Tom Cruise any day.

I also really don't think Miller wanted to do a "25 years later" story.

Rolling into theaters may 15th, 2015.

love that original actor, Hugh keays-Byrne, who played Toecutter in 1979, will have a small part.

No kidding! They just did some reshoots, why in the hell is there a need for over a year and a half of post-production?

Love Max. Love Hardy. But the more I hear about Fury Road, the more I fear it will be a big pile of suck.

If they can get something watchable out of it (cf. World War Z), I will be amazed.

    Early reactions:

This IS the kind of Mad Max II/The Road Warrior on steroids, go-big-or-go-home, bug-nuts crazy, toss-you-in-the-deep-end mythology and put-it-all-out-there-in-case-we-never-make-another-one Mad Max Fury Road
    http://aftimes.com/2014/05/randy-doe...ced-screening/

Just came from a year in advance screening of "Mad Max Fury Road". Weird to not see Gibson as Max but Tom Hardy holds it down just fine. Great action sequences and amazing post apocalyptic vehicles and costuming with awesome makeup.

I'm so hype, y'all. I hope they do a screening in Austin at some point - y'know, before next year.

Charlize looks smokin'. I'm guessing she's going to have the same sex appeal as Jeanne Tripplehorn in Waterworld. And that's fine by me.

Looks crazy. Surprised also by what I perceive to be a possible lack of reboot stuff going on, which is cool. If it's really a chase movie from start to finish, it looks like Max will come into the world fully established or that we'll gleam snippets during the action.

Surprised by the composer, some dude from The Netherlands called Junkie XL.

I've known him most from video games. I guess that's the tone they're after.

I mean, he's been a contributor/collaborator to seemingly every Zimmer action score since Dark Knight Rises or Kung Fu Panda 2, and this year he scored Divergent and 300 on his own, while obviously being in Zimmer's Magnificent Six troupe with Johnny Marr, Pharrell, et al. for Spider-Man.

But yeah, as ETM said, there was a time within the last decade where it seemed like he did every video game there was. So being a fan of a lot of those games and attributing the hypothetical sound I remember from them, I'll assume he's pretty talented.
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

    More EW photos.

Also, didn't see these posted, but they're from last month's cover story:

    []

Not sure I'm digging the high contrast color correction, but I'm pretty certain that's primarily EW's doing.
