I associate the entirety of CAKE's Comfort Eagle with the Summer of 2004. But that's probably just me, because it otherwise isn't terribly Summery? I probably won't have one for this, 'cause I can't think of any songs I associate with Summer.
Except The Decemberists's "Summersong", lol amirite.
EDIT: Point of clarification: That's not something I want on the mixtape.
Alceu Valença - "Você Pensa"
The Sea and Cake - Afternoon Speaker

Wow, there's a name I haven't heard in awhile. I saw these guys back in, uh, the late 90s. The lead singer was skin & bones - apparently he liked him up some of that smack. I'd be surprised if he was still alive.Quoting dreamdead (view post)
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)
He is, in fact, still alive. Still skin and bones, but from the youtube clips I found online, he still sounds good. Who'da thought, since I rather expected him to be dead by now, too.Quoting bac0n (view post)

The Power of the Dog - 7.5

D'oh! The Cat Empire is my go-to summer music but I used them last mix. And while I have the most perfect summertime night driving music, I don't think it will work for what else is being suggested here.

Awesome.Quoting Winston* (view post)
The Sea and Cake totally reminds me of the Summer.

Actually, this one's kind of blindingly obvious, but I humbly submit
Nat "King" Cole - "Those Lazy Hazy Crazy Days of Summer"
Tricky - Aftermath
If that's too long, I'll go with "Unemployed in Summertime" by Emiliana Torrini.

The Descendants (Payne, 2011) - 7.5
Midnight in Paris (Allen, 2011) - 5

Fennesz - "Caecilia"
If you could also post a non-single-track version, I'd appreciate it. Really cannot stand Len.

I plan on doing a continues mix but with track stops - I've got a program that allows for this.Quoting monolith94 (view post)
We'll see how it works.

That sounds cool. I need to try that program out.Quoting bac0n (view post)
I was probably going to use CD Architect.
I plan on using Cool Edit Pro to create mix, and then use CDA to finalize the disc and make the tracks.
We'll see though. Life just got very busy, so this mix won't be done until next week.
