I haven't seen any of the Conjuring movies or doll movies and don't intend to.
I saw Conjuring 2. It was surprisingly good.

The Nun is straight terrible.
One of the doll movies was like the haunted house, but the others were Nun-bad.
Conjuring 2 was much better on a second watch.

I enjoyed the first two Conjuring movies, and thought the first was quite a bit superior. Enjoyed the 2nd Annabelle movie but not the third; didn't bother with the first, when I heard it was terrible. Was pretty unmoved by The Nun. Conjuring 3 doesn't look particularly promising, what with that awful title and jump-scares even in the trailer, but I'll wait for critics to chime in and make my decision whether to see it then.

Now that I think about it...AASB and Grave Encounters have a similar theme that is what scares me more about those films than the jump scares.

Just got home and watched the Conjuring 3 trailer.
Really confused about the plot. Unless there is some serious misdirection going on in that trailer, it seems to be very different from what they've been saying about this one ever since its announcement.
Wish it was Wan, but I'm stoked to see what Patrick Wilson can do behind the camera. I really like him.

The first two Conjuring movies are good. Insidious is great.

The score, among other things, ruins it. Too light hearted at times. The brunette actress was laughably bad, and it just felt like a complete waste of time.

In Scars defense...it seems like a really love it or hate it affair. I can't figure out why considering the director, but what do I know
There’s a scene in Ravenous, I believe, where the score is so misplaced that it takes you out of the movie. Now, instead of one scene, apply that to 75 percent of the movie and you get The Ninth Gate.

I saw it in the theater when it was released and I don't remember anything about it. I do remember thinking "meh."

We watched it again last night. I believe it was our third viewing.
It's really good. Totally a hidden gem. Love its unique take on werewolfism.
We re-watched another underseen werewolf movie the other night, Late Phases.
It's the weaker of the two, but still a ton of fun.
Nick Damici was just all kinds of wrong for the lead role. The makeup to make him look 30+ years older than he is wasn't convincing, and he's just too much of a ham sandwich.
But it features a killer werewolf transformation, and the overall film is greater than the sum of its parts.
Highly recommend both of them. Wer is the better movie, Late Phases is cheesy fun.
