Watched A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. Absolutely ravishing. Totally entranced me, even if there's not a lot there there. That fucking shape of her in the dark cloak thing (unsure of appropriate garment name), shot from a distance and slightly blurred...creepy as shit. Also, the whole thing was beautiful.

Whatever.
Go back to making olive oil in your bedroom.
Does anyone know if the cut of The Devils on The Criterion Channel is the X-rated version or not? Either way, I've started it.....and I'm into it so far.

I love that movie.Quoting Wryan (view post)
Tonight I watched Happy Birthday To Me after I got home from work. Fairly decent 80s slasher with a great ending.

Happy Halloween (the morning after!)
I scared kids last night.
I reward them with the big candy bars.
I really like a good horror film. But why are so many of them so crap?

Low budgets, low expectations, low barriers --- all combined with a rabid fanbase that will watch just about anything, God bless 'em.Quoting transmogrifier (view post)
It's more than that too. 99% of the studio releases are made for profit only; meaning studios know they can buy cheap scripts, and fill them with cheap actors on a $3 million budget and give it an October or January release date and it will gross 3-5x that in theaters. Very rarely do passion projects like Get Out and Hereditary come along.Quoting Irish (view post)
Look at films like The Slender Man or the Bye Bye Man or Wish Upon.
RLM has an excellent video on the ladder two examples. https://youtu.be/K1m3rGh6DUI?t=1216
I kinda dig that you watched "Bye Bye Man" and are still bitter about it.
I want to assign homework assignments to everyone on MC so they can experience what I experienced.Quoting Irish (view post)
BTW, trans, Meg usually has a good recommendation or two if you're looking for something to watch.

It's 19% on RT, which is bad for any movie but not dealbreaker when it comes to horror.
I'm gonna watch it this weeked.
Seriously, if it's not the worst or second worst movie you've ever seen, I'll be shocked.Quoting Irish (view post)
It's a tie with Wish Upon, which is on Prime!
Edit: and both made money

Yeah.... I guess. I still feel the need to watch the Child's Play reboot for some reason and see that they have turned all the death scenes into some weird Final Destination-esque combination of convoluted happenings resulting in a gory death.Quoting Irish (view post)

Wish Upon was one of my favorite watches the year it came out because it was so terrible, it was hilarious.

Setting a high bar there! I've seen some pretty bad horror movies.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
But I might keep a 6 pack close by while I'm watching, Scar style.

You know what would be fun, if we were able to record a match cut audio commentary track.
