Start with Episode 4 of The Venture Bros. The introduction of Dr. Orpheus was when the show went from "pretty funny" to "brilliant". Or watch the Yard Sale episode, then go back and start the series from the beginning. It really was a show that grew better and better as it went along.

I've actually already seen the first season of that. It's great.
Alright, let's go with Drinky Crow. That looks interesting.

I can definitely understand why someone would hate Tim and Eric btw. When I'm talking to someone about how a t-shirt, sitcom joke etc. would be funnier, a large amount of the time it seems to involve removing the part that actually makes it a joke and replacing it with something nonsensical. In that sense, I think this is a show create for someone like me.

They are showing a (live action) movie on Adult Swim right now called The Room. It is like nothing I've ever seen.

I own it on dvd, it is indeed awesome. Any movie which shows the same exact explicit sex scene twice and tries to act like it was two seperate incidents is fine with me.

It is remarkably awful and truly earns its cult status. It just recently finished a 3+ year long run of Saturday midnight showings at one of LA's bigger theaters.

You should watch the episode of Tim and Eric where Tommy Wiseau directs 'the Pig Man.' It is completely hilarious.

I just can't get over how awful Wiseau is.

It's like watching an incoherent toddler in the body of a 40-year old.

Yeah, I kept flipping back to The Room last night, aghast at how unbearable it was. I can't imagine going to see it in the theater, even if it does have a Rocky Horror-ish sort of following. It was just ... horrible. It doesn't shock me at all that Tim and Eric would endorse something so craptacular.

I'm so bummed that I didn't know The Room was airing last night. Netflix doesn't carry it, and I've been dying to see it.

You can still experience what it was like without watching it. Get a bunch of nails and pound them into your head with a mallet. You are now experiencing the wonder and magic that is The Room.

I couldn't breathe when I was watching it, I was laughing so hard.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’

Watched the first episode of The Drinky Crow Show. Not sure about this. The old timey art at odds with the pornographic and extremely violent content is kind of interesting I guess, but I didn't find the pilot all that funny. From the few Maakies comic strips I've read, seems like a faithful adaptation but again with those I found them more kind of interesting than funny and not something I was compelled to seek out more of.

Verdict: Will probably give it a couple more episodes. Especially since Flight of the Conchords are guest starrring in the next one.

Also caught the bulk of an episode of Robot Chicken (not the first). It made me want to hurt it.

Despite being a big fan of The Venture Bros., something at the very beginning of the second season has always bugged the hell out of me.

Was this a case of poor writing, or did I miss something?

First episode of Lucy the Daughter of the Devil - Enjoyed it. Kind of has the feel of an extended improv bit with the premise of "The Devil has a daughter in arts high school", but by good improv people not hacky improv people, which has then been animated (not very well). Funny stuff, the voice actor for the Devil is great.

    Verdict: Will continue.

Let's not forget our priorities with Venture Bros. Funny first, story second. The way it played out was pretty funny. At the end I got the impression that Venture just used the events as an excuse to shirk his responsibilities.

The laughs in "Venture Bros" are frequent and hearty, but what consistently amazes me and keeps me coming back is the incredible plotting.

Honestly, the writing is brilliant from every angle you look at it. It works as both an ongoing narrative and a series of stand-alone adventure/comedy episodes, and the way the characters' pasts entwine and futures collide is incredible.

That's why this little slip-up at the beginning of the second season sticks out like a sore thumb to me. It seems like something they would have had up their sleeves since day one, but it's incorporated like something they made up that day.

So can anyone tell me why Bret and Jumaine from Flight of the Conchords were on Tim & Eric the other night for like 2 seconds? So random.

    Of course I have.

I concede that it was a pretty dumb question. Tim and Eric and "why" don't exactly mesh well. This particular celebrity cameo just seemed more random than what is usual for the show.
