A lot of their original content takes a while for me to like. But I've grown to love to most of their shows now. The only show I've never liked is Squidbillies. Just ugly animation. I don't really "get" Drinky Crow either, although I like how they use the old style of novel illustrations for their animation. A lot of the gore across many of the shows strikes me as often done for the sake of itself.

Some of the shows' style I can appreciate (like Superjail being modeled after all those drawings of battles you might have drawn in the 7th grade), but some just never stick.

The move to live action programming indicates they're more after certain types of humor, no matter the medium.

As a fan of anime, I'm disappointed they moved away from airing shows five times a week. And among their new anime, they really haven't had anything really good since Death Note. Seriously, what's going on with Moribito? The ratings must have been terrible, because they aired just ten episodes, moved it to last thing on the schedule and look to not have ordered more. It's too bad because it was essentially a serialized Princess Mononoke. Bleach I don't understand why I keep watching. It feels aimed at 12-year olds. Code Geass is alright I suppose. The main character is a bit of a sociopath.
    Out of 4 stars:
    The Guest: ***1/2
    Furious 7: ***
The Tale of Princess Kaguya: ***
    It Follows: ***1/2

"Let me get this straight...you cook it [lobster] alive in boiling water, where it shrinks, turns red and dies? That's the most metal thing I've ever heard."
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"

    "Rick...it's a flamethrower."

Let me put it this way. Adult Swim provided me with some solid entertainment back in the day. However now that I no longer smoke the chronic I find it's endless series of absurdities and non sequitur's leaves much to be desired. There are still a few clips, shows and moments worth a laugh here and there but it's no longer worth my time to wade through it all.

Guys, I used to be way into Adult Swim, but I've never done marijuana or any other drugs that generally make things more enjoyable (and never beend runk while watching AS, either).

What does this say about me?

How about we both get and watch the first episode of Tim and Eric Awesome Show and then post out thoughts and then you choose one and we'll both get it and watch it and post our thoughts and then I'll choose one and we'll both get it and watch it and post our thoughts....

Hey guys, I haven't watched any of the new shows in like 4 or 5 years and it's been about as long as I've watched any of the old ones. I'd kinda like to join you too as I catch up with Adult Swim and revisit old shows.

    If is ok.

I've watched not only the first but the first three epsiodes of Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great job. Agreed with inconsistent. There's stuff in this show that's incredibly stupid and unfunny but then there's stuff that's stupid and makes me LOL so it's all good. Also it all moves so quick, so unlike Mr. Show or other sketch shows the really unfunny bits don't end up lasting 10 minutes. Also, kickass opening.

"Think about your dad...What's that dad like?...I want to meet that dad...Do do do do"

    Verdict: Will continue watching.

Watch Frisky Dingo next Winston; granted it takes a while to find a groove, but it's worth it (only seen the first season tho).

    Season 2 is even better.

Killface and Awezome X run against each other for President of the USA.

Well, I've seen every single show on AS, and I only like Venture Bros and Metalocalypse. The rest got tiring pretty fast, most of them I grew to hate quickly.

I think I outgrew absurdist random comedy at some point. The homegrown appeal just flies over my head now. I really like VB and Metalocalypse because they actually put a lot of effort in their animation and storytelling. Jokes for jokes' sake is just... bleh.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’
