It's on USA right now. This is one of those movies I always need to watch if I find it on TV. Very fun film. The second one is pretty good too. I have yet to see the third.
Where are the other Mummy lovers?

I've tried to watch The Mummy three times and never made it past the 30 minute mark. Interchangable with any other generic big budget american action film.

I enjoyed them and more or less forgot them around the time of their original release.
Why isn't this in the FDT. There's no ideas here.
is on AMC. Can't stop watching.
I watched this with the GF last night. I love this movie. Considering moving it to my top 100 list.
I truly expected Brandan Frasier's career to go up after this. Too bad. He seems likable. Oh, and fuck that third Mummy movie.
Fraser's career high point is still his two-episode appearance on Scrubs. That's not a bad thing.

Stephen Sommers should not be allowed to make movies. I would donate to a Kickstarter to make that happen.
Is he still making movies? Pretty sure that Kickstarter succeeded.Quoting Derek (view post)
Sure why not?
STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI (Rian Johnson) - 9
STRONGER (David Gordon Green) - 6
THE DISASTER ARTIST (James Franco) - 7
THE FLORIDA PROJECT (Sean Baker) - 9
LADY BIRD (Greta Gerwig) - 8

Unfortunately he's still around.Quoting Watashi (view post)
That's been like that for years. I don't think that project is confirmed.Quoting Derek (view post)
And what's with the Sommers hate? He does the best camp around.
Just watched The Mummy Returns last night. "Oh I hate mummies"
Next up is GI Joe.
I don't know. I hated the first two Mummy movies when they came out and then G.I. Joe was an incomprehensible mess. It's been too long to say anything specific about the Mummy movies, but G.I. Joe was one of the most poorly shot action films I've ever seen. It's Transformers II level bad.Quoting Dukefrukem (view post)
Because we were talking about them the other day... I am watching them all in sequence.
All three remakes are better than the original with Boris Karloff. At least Tomb of the Dragon Emperor has Brandon Fraiser where as the other 40s films are almost identical to the original with very little mummy and beat by beat execution.
The 1940s Mummy’s Hand being the exception as there is a sidekick character that provides good comic relief throughout. (Very similar to the modern day Mummy remakes)
Also, was surprised how many times I laughed out loud with the Abbott and Costello stuff. That schtick, being so old, still can kill it if you're in the right mood.
