I never saw the Funny Games remake, but I'm assuming I'd give it the same rating.

    Riiiiigghhhtt.

Even though I did give it the same rating, there are different actors here, and there is potential, as seen on this board, that people will have different reactions.

You should edit it to what you actually have seen.

Sorry about that, I just read the first couple of posts and assumed everyone else was doing the same thing.:P I wasn't trying to be snarky or anything, because I would've done this even if I gave the original a more positive score. Guess I was influenced by Gonzalez, whose review of the remake was a duplicate of his original.

You don't have to count my second score.

I can't see myself seeing the Funny Games remake. I liked the original but I don't feel like there would be any benefit to me in seeing the same story told again.

There's only subtle difference, yes, but a lot of the messages have been changed a ton by simply staying the same.

Time of the Wolf is pretty damn good. It's practically what I envision The Road turning out to be as the look and pace of it goes.

I had no idea where the movie would go after that first scene. phew!

Available to watch on Instant Netflix guys, check it out.

Interesting. Do you have any thoughts on why it didn't connect with you? It remains Haneke's best in my eyes because Ruppert's character openly desires the masochism that underscores much of Haneke's cinema. And though Haneke does other things in cinema well (some of the Cache images are incredible), that sense of masochism in cinema, to me, remains his strength.

Added Funny Games U.S., bumped my rating up for the original by one point, reminding E to tally these, waiting for KF's response to dreamdead, and drawing attention to dreamdread's amusing typo for all to enjoy.

    Weird.
Indeed. It makes sense with the amount of viewers. If I took only the people who saw both, the results would be much different.

    Nonetheless, weird.

I was hoping someone here had seen something from his pre-Seventh Continent days. I would love to get a hold of a subtitled version of his Austrian TV work.
