Thread: The 100 Worstest Things Ever: A Rip-Off

Oh, Braden. I think The CnL should have been higher on your list.

I think it's better not to know how much you've spent on DVDs over the years.

That's an awesome collection, and "Rats in the Walls" rules.

But are limited releases really any worse for Canada than for the U.S.? I'm seeing No Country for Old Men in Toronto tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure that it's opening across Canada in two weeks.

The example of No Country For Old Men is apparnetly a case of misinformation on my part - as I said earlier I called the theatre today to find out if they would be playing it, and they told me they weren't getting it any time before Christmas.

However apparently it is coming out in two weeks.

But there are lots of movies that were never released here - at least in Ottawa.

Well, the solution is obvious: if you want to satisfy your movie needs, you should move to Toronto.

Or Montreal, it's also playing here... and it's closer.

Since April 22, 2003, I have spent $7,796.29 on DVDs from this place.

    That's insane.
For a while I was using a program that kept track of the value of my DVDs. About a third of the way through logging my collection (this was three years ago, when it was about half its current size), I got really depressed about it and annihilated the database. Some things I don't need to know.

I don't know. When the hell is happening to them!?

TV poker is great. Some of the late-night "speed" games are kinda lame, but World Poker Tour, Poker Superstars and the World Series of Poker are awesome to watch.

Funny you should mention At The Mountains Of Madness. It's the first time I've sat down and actually read Lovecraft, and I must say, it's absolutely enthralling.

    Hand Sanitizer

It smells like shit, and it leaves my hands feeling dirtier than before I put it on. Seriously, have you ever used this stuff? For the first 30 seconds it feels like you just jacked off an elephant...then when it dries, your hands have this sort of semi-sticky feeling. And being a person who has very warm hands that sweat very easily, it's this permanently sludgey feeling.

Then if you eat anything afterwards where your hands come in contact with the food, it leaves the rubbing alochol-mixed-with-ass scent all over it.

Add to that the fact that it works a little too well - some are saying that having these antibacterial cleansers that kill 99.999% of germs will just lead to new mutations of unkillable super germs - and it makes me wonder why the stuff even exists.

    Hand Sanitizer
I agree that it's bad, and I agree with most of your individual points, but I actually love the smell.

^ I'm paranoid about superbugs so I never use the stuff, but I like the smell, too.

I don't mind the smell at all. Then again, I work in a lab.

With that said, the only time I use anti-bacterial anything is after playing with bugs in the lab (most especially with molds), or after I'm done playing with raw meat.

"Raw meat" could easily be construed as a euphemism for "penis." As such, when you're done "playing with raw meat," it's not a terrible leap in logic to read it as "masturbating."

It would make sense that you would want to clean up after masturbating, though I'm not sure that hand sanitizer is going to really be the most effective cleaning method. The anti-bacterial properties seem especially superfluous.

I just jerk off with the hand sanitizer. No need for the middle man. Going from A to C has never felt so gooooood.
