their latest single is ear-splittingly awfulQuoting Sven (view post)
but then again, i'm not really the target for a new stp album. same as a new soundgarden album
I've come the conclusion that I purchased bootleg CDs from both amazon and deepdiscount. I recall now that neither had that annoying sticker that seals it. I bought a third copy from a third party vendor (through amazon) - it has the sticker and plays just fine.Quoting Yxklyx (view post)
I'm not too into Soundgarden, but this new STP album is definitely a new sound for them. Which single are you talking about? You couldn't be talking about Take a Load Off, because that song is great, and the only other single from that album is Between the Lines, which is totally cool too.Quoting Acapelli (view post)
yeah it's between the lines. i think it was the lyrics that really made me hate it more than anything though
Has anyone else been listening to this Janelle Monae record? Really digging it these last few weeks.
Okay, so... I don't know if any of you are even Pat Benatar fans, let alone willing to read her memoir, but I need to get rid of five copies of her book that Harper Collins sent me. I dunno. I'm not really expecting a huge turnout here, so it would be nice if some of you help me out by joining this contest.
Please?

Man, this is nothing. You should hear what I did to get rid of a stack of Natalie Imbruglia CDs. There were assless chaps and flour involved.

People who dis on Johnny the Fox are so wrong. So wrong.
Anyone check out the new Roots CD?
The new Kanye West song samples King Crimson. This is awesome.

One of my favorite ever. Still remember hearing the news that Mark Sandman had died. Broke my heart.Quoting Grouchy (view post)
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)
Yup, first listened to it online three times on Monday, then bought it the next day. Loving it more and more ever since. It holds onto a great balance of having those amazing stand-alone songs like "The Day" and the title track, but still having tons of room for their signature mood interludes to make everything pop out and hold together in a really gratifying, thematic way.Quoting Ezee E (view post)

Shit I need to hear that Dark Night of the Soul album. How much did Lynch contribute beyond the visual art?
Listening to Nirvana's live version of "Come as You Are" from their MTV unplugged. Great stuff. Grunge lives on emotionally for me.
Lynch did vocals on 2 tracks, and I think he offered "artistic direction" or something.
The only 2 tracks I don't care for are the ones with Black Francis and Iggy Pop. They just sound out of place, and I think they kind of spoil the mood and atmosphere of the album. Especially the Black Francis one - I'm really kind of tired of this guy.

Though really, I haven't heard anything he's done post-1996, so...
There's not much of a reason too, as far as I can tell.Quoting Sven (view post)
Boring, mediocre rock.
Since I failed to make a Top 50 Songs list last year because it takes two damn long, I decided to do 25 now (cut off at albums I heard June 30th or before) and 25 more at the end of the year.
Download here - they're all tagged and all that jazz.
