Glad Justin Lin is back. I look up who is this one's director after the trailer and you (well, at least I) can really tell the difference.

    So that ending... twin?

    My bet is on vampires.

Notice when so-and-so gives that kid a cross she says it's "for his protection"? Totally vampire vibe.

It's actually a secret crossover with Diesel's Bloodline, or Bloodbank, or Bloodbender, or Bloodclot, or Bloodsurge, or Bloodgargle.

They did the same with part8 and I was pissed, thinking they gave up the entire movie. I was wrong then, so I assume I'm wrong here too.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

It’s a little weird how much of the trailer was reminding me of Hobbs and Shaw.

Yeah that tropical setting looks exactly like Hobbs and Shaw's climax.

Why do criminals love religious symbolism so much?

I've known people who were gang bangers, drug dealers and murderers, and they always wear a million crosses and say shit like "jesus has my back".

    Pretty sure he doesn't, bruh.

It's shoddy theology, but the appeal I guess is that you can repent and claim Jesus as your savior and be forgiven for the bad shit you've done. But the idea is that you'd then make some changes about the amount of sin you're committing in order to be taken seriously, so they're still fucking up if they're not on the road to becoming former criminals.

It varies for sure. In some cases, the criminal activity they're doing is for the money that they're bringing back to their family and loved ones, and truly don't believe anyone is getting hurt. There's not violent activity every day like in the movies.

And a lot of it is just face value stuff to impress their wife and kids.

The only thing I didn't love in that trailer was the feeling of worry that they were somehow showing every insane action moment from the movie, but knowing these movies, I also don't think that's possible.

Though I doubt I'll be able to see this in a theatre by June (Ontario is currently screwed lockdown-wise, vaccine rollout has been a mess, etc.) but I am still pumped for this in whatever form my eyes and ears can bask in it!
Last 11 things I really enjoyed:

    Speed Racer (Wachowski/Wachowski, 2008)
    Safe (Haynes, 1995)
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (Parker, 1999)
    Beastie Boys Story (Jonze, 2020)
    Bad Trip (Sakurai, 2020)
    What's Up Doc? (Bogdanovich, 1972)
    Diva (Beineix, 1981)
    Delicatessen (Caro/Jeunet, 1991)
    The Hunger (Scott, 1983)
    Pineapple Express (Green, 2008)
    Chungking Express (Wong, 1994)

I think it's a class and cultural issue foremost. Most criminals of that kind are lower class.

John Cena had to issue an apology to China for accidentally referring to Taiwan as a country.

China always gotta go being China.

Honestly I would have made the same mistake. I had no idea Taiwan isn't its own country.

TIL: John Cena has studied Mandarin for years and posted his apology video to Weibo, the Chinese social network, in that language.

Yeah I thought that was pretty neat.

When I first read that he did it in Mandarin I figured a coach taught him to say it all phonetically. But nope, all him.
