After having just seen ep 21, I've come to the conclusion that I want another season darnit.

Okay, so 24 is not as good as it once was, but it has definitely made a huge comeback. There's an anger, all bets are off quality to it now that I really enjoy loads.

And that final realization that Jack was going to have to confront a demon from the past was gold.

Let there be a movie I suppose.

Last Monday's episode was so goddamn badass, I couldn't actually believe it. I'm not sure which was more amazing: him kidnapping Logan again, only in even more kickass style (plus Logan shitting his pants), or when they cut to all of the dead Russians. I laughed at that part, especially considering that Bauer impailed the one bald bad guy Russian with a fire place poker. Whoa.

Really I think the show's run its course, and aside from maybe another movie it should end. But I imagine they'll send things out in grand, fantastic style this Monday.

This may end up being my second favorite season of the show next to season 5.

all that finale needed was a "see the further adventures of jack bauer next summer in 24: the movie"

pretty great run of episodes to end the season. logan was excellent

Freakin' awesome way to end the show, although that chilling and cool final shot set up a movie, if one actually does happen. Season 8 gets a really solid B+, which means I can rank/rate 'em as the following:

Man, I haven't watched this season except for the first 3 episodes, but I decided to tune into the finale to complain about it. I was surprisingly engrossed the entire time. Great way to end it, and very classic Jack Bauer dilemma.

I did laugh out loud twice, though.

First was when Jack was forcing Chloe to shoot him and they were just yelling back and forth. It reminded me of the cat poop scene in Anchorman.

Then later when the President had this hilarious exchange with Subarov:

"What are you doing, Madam President?"
"Something I should've done... hours ago.

I was not really a big fan of the show until season 5. I hated 1 and 2 so that's sorta why.

Wow! That was pulse-pounding, the best of 24. The uncomfortable silences, the emotions, all genuine, the intense confrontations. You could hear a pin drop in my living room during the Taylor-Mrs. Hassan verbal showdown. That was amazing and I could easily symphatize with both at that moment. I can't believe 24 went out on such a high note and now I really really want a movie.

As soon as I finish Fringe, I'm rewatching the whole series... So stoked to see Jack back.

Anyone know if that short 24 mini-series is streaming on Netflix too? (the one that explains why Jack comes back from the islands) It's blocked at work.

Hell yeah I'll watch. Fox has realized the only way I'll view anything aside from football and reruns on their crappy network is if they bring back 24. They win, for now.

Had a couple of lazy weekends and decided to watch all of Season 8 because as much as I make fun of the idea, I know I'll probably tune in to the new one.

The finale registered so much better when I didn't know what was going on (see my previous post from 4 YEARS AGO). Watching the whole thing, the last arc of the season was really fucking stupid. I get really annoyed these days by thriller plots about sensitive information when it's all digital. Something that can be easily copied and distributed is treated like microfilm and have to be handed in person. It's absurd, and the "NSA have put up firewall" throwaway line to explain it is equally absurd. It's a video and audio recording. There's literally hundreds of options to show that to the world if that's your objective. That conversation Jack taped between Logan and Suvarov would take all of 8 seconds to upload to YouTube from a cellphone.

Highly enjoyed the UN subplot with President Taylor and Anil Kapoor's family, though. Dare say it was way more compelling than anything Jack went through all season.
