How did you forgot the most badass character of all....?

    []
    That was season 6.
    Another pointless death.

Jack killed him to save an ex-terrorist who only ended up dying when he tried to save the president's life. The latter didn't die, he just ended up in a coma.

Luckily I didn't care for Curtis. Nor for Wayne.

I had reservations going into this season, but I'm enjoying it.

Disclaimer: I've never seen a full episode of 24.

But I have seen like 20 minutes from each of opening episodes and the question I have to ask is this: isn't this just Die Hard 2? Except 24 hrs long? The main character being ridiculously badass, the main character telling the man to go fuck himself, the main character trying to get people to trust him by telling them trust me, plus the whole plane angle...Seems almost exactly the same.
Wishful thinking, perhaps; but that is just another possible definition of the featherless biped.

You say that like it's a bad thing. As far as I'm concerned, a whopping 24 hours of something akin to the quality of the Die Hard franchise (Yeah, love the second one as well) sounds like music to my ears. Well, sorta because season six of 24 was rather tiresome and riddled with clichés that, up to that point, hadn't really bothered me. I've yet to start season 7. And Die Hard 2 is nearly two decades old so I'm not too bothered by any similarities, but I'm hoping they won't be too overt and that season 7 will have some original stuff unrelated to Die Hard 2 plotlines.

I too picked up on the Die Hard 2 vibes, and also the firewall being breached reminds me of Live Free or Die Hard. But I don't mind, too much, considering these days even the Bourne films have action movie cliches. Originality is kind of dead, as everything has practically been done before.

So far the third episode has been the best, but the next batch has also been pretty damn good as well. I actually liked the ending to last week's episode, and this week's featured some really awesome moments. [
    ]

That said, it seems like they are taking most of the major threats from the past couple of seasons and throwing them all into this season. Well, not all of them, but still of them echo in my memory. Not that I really mind, as it strikes me as rather crazy and sort of unexpected.

I agree but then I didn't really have any big expectations. The show seems to be going into broken record mode. There's always some bad guys in government, the president will never give into terrorist demands... Sigh. I'm curious where they'll go with the president's husband stuff.

    Initial thoughts (episodes 1~3)

It's enjoyable of course and, compared to season six, has the good sense not to go all out with explosions and implausible plot twists. A little build of solid build-up you know rather than total armageddon.

I still can't get warmed up over [
] I guess this echoes a plot element of season three where Tony, Miguel and Jack were working together to get Jack back undercover with the Salazars without Chappelle knowing about it.

episode 7 was probably my favorite of the season so far. Action packed with a smart villain. That was nice.

Morris I agree that the whole thing with Tony was straight out of Season 3, but I didn't mind too much.

And at least this time the main villian escaped because he was smart, and not because the creators' needed him to do so like with Marwan in Season 4.

I like that the show only features action when its really necessary, instead of going into overkill.

I knew it was him though because the name Glen Morshower popped up in the credits.

Anyway, this season is way better than the previous one.

    Hah Barty. That's awesome.

I finally caught up after missing last week's episode. Its cool to see Aaron back in action, even if so far its just only a few moments.

Last week's episode wasn't as good as tonight's, if only because the sisters' subplot came off as really silly. Tonight at least had some rather solid/good moments, and the second half of the season might be very interesting (judging from the previews for next week's four hour one night event).

Whoa, 4 hours would have been nuts.

I loved this last episode, it had the right amount of wrapping up with keeping things new. A little bit of hokeyness with a good amount of action. It's finally being a show which isn't predictable.

No one else cares to comment on Monday's awesome double episode special? Because it was actually quite good. [
] Which would suck, but I guess the show hasn't featured too many utterly shocking moments yet, I suppose. Not that its a bad thing. [

Finally, I like that next week [

I really liked it, the second episode especially because there was lots of action and a good lead in to where it's going. I'm curious to see how they'll pan out 12 more episodes. What I do know is so far this is looking like my second favorite season after season 5.
