    Dunk of the Year:

    Very reminiscent of this:

    Contagion (Soderbergh, 2011) - 6.5
    The Descendants (Payne, 2011) - 7.5
    Midnight in Paris (Allen, 2011) - 5
    Margin Call (Chandor, 2011) - 6.5
The Ides of March (Clooney, 2011) - 5

Utterly ridiculous. I don't think I'm the only one who wants George to enter the dunk contest this year.

Ouch, Danilo Gallinari is out for the season after needing surgery to repair his torn ACL. Interesting note: he, Giuseppe Rossi, Linsday Vonn and Russell Westbrook have all been under the care of the same surgeon. All have suffered relapse knee injuries.

And a day after Rudy Gay goes off for 41 points:

He suffers an Achilles injury. No word yet on the severity of it. DeMarcus Cousins rolled his ankle in the same game.

The Nets are going to wear these jerseys in tribute to the Brooklyn Dodgers for five games:

This is about the only instance I can think of where a sleeved jersey makes sense... because it's supposed to look like a baseball jersey.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Suns crush the Pacers. It was nice to finally watch this team in action. They have size, speed, and depth. However they lack that true stud player who can take over down the stretch, although maybe Bledsoe is that guy.

If the Suns end up making the playoffs, Hornacek should definitely be named Coach of the Year. This was a team that was supposed to win 20 games, tops.

So Bargnani tore a ligament in his elbow on that play. Out indefinitely.

Kawhi Leonard has suffered a fractured hand (seems to be a fairly common injury this season) and is expected to be out 3-4 weeks.

    All-Star starters announced:

West: Kobe Bryant, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Kevin Love
East: Kyrie Irving, Dwyane Wade, Paul George, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony

Not bad. Surprised that Love made it over Dwight Howard. I'm sure James Harden will be selected as a starter if Kobe and Chris Paul are unable to play.

Kobe already said he wouldn't play even if he was back. Glad to see Love make it.

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

Melo responds by dropping 62 tonight, breaking Kobe's MSG record. Unreal shooting performance.

I told my friends that Hornacek would do good things with the Suns. I'm happy that the tank job failed and I think the Suns will still be able to get a quality player in the draft next season even if they finish above .500.

Shame about Kawhi. I like him as a player.

There was some great scoring performances yesterday besides Melo.

Marcus Thornton goes for 42 (including 22 in the first quarter) and Isiah Thomas goes for 38. They scored 80 of the Kings 111 points.

Chandler Parsons hit ten 3's in one half setting an alltime NBA record.

Mirza Teletovic had 34 points (including 24 in the second quarter) in just 26 minutes. His previous career high in a game was 19 which he broke in his first 6 minutes of action.

Terrence Ross dropped 50. Durant 10th straight game with 30.

Fairly crazy week for individual scoring.

Ross is the first player to score 50 or more points while previously averaging less than 10 points per game. After last night, his scoring average increased from 9.3 to 10.2.

The Nets started the season 10-21, and are now 10-1 in their last eleven games. Wow.

Now Manu is out for 3-4 weeks, in addition to Green, Leonard, and Splitter. Yikes.

Memphis is on a roll after trading for Courtney Lee and getting Marc Gasol back. Looking like a playoff team again.

Laker haters must have enjoyed their 3-17 stretch over the last twenty games. They weren't this depressing to watch the last time they stunk this badly (the 2004-05 season) because they had a prime Kobe. Heavy minutes of Kendall Marshall and Ryan Kelly aren't cutting it.

Speaking of Marshall, I hope they try to sell high and flip him for a draft pick, if they can.

Heat/Thunder lived up to the hype (because fuck the Heat). That Lebron/Durant back-and-forth at late in the third quarter was the highlight of the entire game.

Hilarious that the Heat were initially up 22-4 at one point. I was watching the Heat not even try in the fourth quarter.

Can't really argue with those reserves. They all deserved it. Really glad to see Millsap & Noah get some love.

I didn't expect the Suns to beat the Pacers again. The speed and crashing the boards probably did the trick, plus the fact that Dragic is a beast. I like how Jeff Hornacek is handling minutes for this team. He could overuse Dragic but is choosing to keep him rested and healthy, which is probably why The Dragon's stats aren't even higher than they already are. Plus it helps that the Suns bench is really good.
