All this talk about killer animals and such is funny to me considering I'm watching Joe Dante's Piranha right now.

Am I the only one here today?
My car's in the shop today, so I borrowed my mother's car.
So far, three people have come up and said some variation of, "Oh, you FINALLY got a new car. I'm SO glad."
Thanks!
...and the milk's in me.
Fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck.
I should keep track of how many times I've been delayed at STL.

Anybody have experience with a hernia? I was sick last week and I've been coughing like mad since. (Only now is my cough really subsiding.) But, I either pulled a muscle or I've given myself a hernia from coughing so much.
It's right at my waistline and it hurts a little bit whenever I cough. I don't feel a "bump" the way WebMD suggests hernias present themselves. And I'd rather avoid the doctor if I could. I may give it a week or two and see how it progresses, though.

Sounds about right. You probably just can't find the bump. Might as well hit the Doctor, cause you will in 1-2 weeks anyway.Quoting Spun Lepton (view post)

My friend had a really bad cough once and she bruised a rib. It hurt like hell, but it healed on its own.

I've always known the identifying characteristic of a hernia to be the bump. Often it juts out so much that wearing regular clothing causes discomfort.
I would suggest doing like you said in your second paragraph - giving it a few days and seeing if it loosens and heals like a pulled muscle.
I wouldn't give it too long, though, because if it is a hernia, you really should have it checked out.
Whatever you choose to do, I hope you're OK.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
I pressed against the spot and coughed a few times. I don't feel anything pushing out, aside from what I think is the muscle. I'm not a doctor and I don't play one on TV, either. I'm going to give it the weekend and visit a Minute Clinic on Monday if it's still a bother.
It doesn't hurt unless I cough, and even then it's very slight. More pressure and discomfort than pain. God, I hope it's a pulled muscle ...

That really does sound like a pulled muscle, Spun.
Let yourself have a good night's sleep, try to sleep in as comfortable a position as possible. I imagine it'll be better tomorrow

Words can't describe the genius of ICP's new single, "Miracles".

I wonder who these scientists Shaggy 2 Dope's been talking to that have been lying to him about how magnets work are. Jerks IMO.

Blerg. I'm pretty sure I'm stuck in England for awhile. If I just knew, when I'd be able to get home, I think I could take the delay just fine, but not having any clue if it'll be days or weeks (if any of the other volcanoes erupt...) is a bit stressful.
Plus, expensive.
Spun-
I've hacked myself into a pulled muscle before. Hell, I've done a lot of things that have resulted in pulled muscles, bruised bones, etc.
I did have a hernia back in 4th grade or so, and I'll spoil this for those easily grossed out/offended:

Spun, I had this flu, my girlfrend did, and my co-worker did. ALL of us had similar pains in our guts a few days after. I too was concerned, but it faded. I would wait a bit before heading to the doctor.
ICP is still around? Amazing.

It's still uncomfortable, but the pain hasn't increased, so I think I'm in the clear. I've run and jumped and done all kinds of actions to provoke pain, but it seems to only hurt when I cough and when I sit up. So, probably a pulled muscle? I'm going to wait a few more days.
