I was just reading about solar power, and some of the stats are amazing. Right now, they aren't terribly cost-effective, but that's getting better. But even more amazing is how easily solar power could completely compensate the earth's population.

Por ejemplo: the sun gives off six-thousand times the amount of energy the earth's population uses every day. If we could harness one six-thousandth of the sun's power, we'd be set. Completely set.

    Un otro ejemplo:

Those black dots represent the total surface area of solar power surfaces needed to power the human race completely, free of any other power sources. Yes, those surfaces are huge, but if Houston has the infrastructure to cover itself in a fucking dome (yes, that's underway), then why not this?

Y uno mas: labs in Israel are working on reflector dishes (instead of flat panels) that reach nearly the same energy efficiency as coal and oil.

    This stuff is really cool.

In that case, allow me to express my confusion about overzealous sports fans. People have rioted because the team that is located near them happened to win/lose. Please explain this phenomenon. kthx

Bummer. I'm very picky with girls I date. Some say too picky, which doesn't make any sense to me. Anyways, one that I 've dating moves to Spain in a couple months for two years for Fashion Design.

    Moving on.

    too picky
My friends say this about me. I find it baffling. Maybe I'm just too comfortable being single, but I have never found one good reason to "settle" for someone.

(Actually, the first time someone said that about me, I was offended, because I thought they were referring to looks. I'm not picky about looks. But she pointed out that I'm very particular in regards to intelligence, sense of humor, creativity, and value systems; especially ethics, politics, and religion. Okay, FINE, I'm picky.)
    ...and the milk's in me.

Yes. It's very annoying. When I say, "Oh, well then should I simply settle for someone?" They'll shake their heads and say I'm still too picky. No sense.

I've been told I'm picky too, but I don't think I am :/ Why would I want to be with someone I don't want to be with? That's not picky, that's like... me being happy.

    Help?

Twice today my work computer has set my time back an hour. That's usually the clock I check, and it's freaking me out. The first time I opened the clock and manually set it forward an hour and checked that it was set on EST.

*THREE TIMES NOW. It happened once while I was typing.

Is it possible that my computer is so stupid it has daylight savings time wrong?

My favorite sports-related incident happened here in Ottawa about 3 years ago, when a middle-aged Ottawa Senators fan tripped a 5 year old boy while he was walking down the stairs to his seat, because the little boy was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan.

There's something off about DST this year. My computer at home and my computer at work and my cellphone all switched back an hour, despite that being apparently incorrect according to coworkers' watches/cells/computers. I have no idea why mine are set differently. The time zone is correct.

That's one of the only good things about living in arizona is that we don't deal with that nonsense.

I was actually just reading about Matt Damon and he’s like, ‘There’s a culture of outrage.’ I’m like, ‘Well, they have a reason to be outraged.’ I think it’s a lot of dudes just being scared. They’re like, ‘What if I did something and I didn’t realize it?’ I’m like, ‘Deal with it.’
