For Christmas at my parents we all bring a gift card, then we yankee swap/white elephant them until they all gone. Side game is to see who can bring the most desired card. This year I brought a Playstation Store gift card, knowing full well the only people at the gathering have Xboxs.

    *pets my Playstation Store card*

Scarette is passed the F out on the couch with one of the pups, and I’m marathoning Alone, again.

    Happy New Years, fuckers.

We finished Endgame, and are now watching Terror Train.

Each have had 2 very generous double rye and gingers, and 2 IPA tall boys.

Maybe a couple of infused brownies.

    Feeling pretty good.

    What is Alone?

I work in grocery. I have not gotten sick. My fellow employees have not gotten sick. If the virus were even remotely as contagious as its being presented as, why haven’t entire store staffs who come into contact with hundreds of people per day, thousands per week, all falling ill in mass nationwide?

    Yes.

Is it a joke or was the guy serious?

If it's the latter...I hope CS gets called.

Some guy bragged about his great parenting skills, because his 9 year old daughter came to him saying she was hungry so he gave her a can opener and a can of beans and told her to figure it out. He says it took her 6 hours to get it open.

Some people are saying it was a joke. If that's the case...pretty poor taste, but whatever.

But if he's serious, and he let his daughter be hungry for 6 hours...I really hope he gets punished.

I parent would teach the operation of the can opener and then guide her through using it.

Yes, most normal people think this way. BeanDad took it somewhere else.

Nah. Bean Dad got owned and had to run away. An apology or even clarification wouldn't have fixed things on the internet.

People think apologizing and admitting they were wrong is a sign of weakness instead of growing as a person.

Yes but (and this has nothing to do with Beandad because as far as I'm concerned he's garbage) cancel culture on the net couldn't care less if you apologize, or even show genuine remorse and effort to change.

You did or said something stupid? You deserve to have your life ruined, have everyone in your life turn on you, and have this haunt you for the rest of your life.

These people have such a hard on for that "gotcha!" moment, and the combination of the anonymity of the internet and the permanence of everyone on it has allowed this to become almost a new form of bullying.

Did you see the people trying to ruin Jennifer Aniston over the holidays because of her COVID tree ornament? People saying it's evidence of rich people not understanding the consequences of a pandemic, insensitivity towards victims, etc...yet the ornament was one of the best selling items on Etsy through November and December, selling over 20,000 units.

Even intent and context mean nothing anymore.

Sorry to go off on this but (doubt anyone remembers but I mentioned it here a few months ago) I went through this bullshit with a psycho employee.

And in other news I just got punched in the face by a guy who refused to wear a mask in the store.

    Black eye incoming.

Glad there are people fighting for retail workers to live in poverty. We definitely deserve it.
