Not going to lie, I think the radio host was just easily offended by bantering. The phones going off were certainly unprofessional on Piven's end, but he acknowledged the same. The host was passively jabbing at Piven's job too, and then just went nuts.

Still a good video to watch, and you can tell that the producer knew this wasn't going to work out afterward, no matter what.

Yeah this feels like what the show wanted to have happen. The stuff before the blow up was one of the most boring line of questioning I've ever heard so I can't blame Piven for making a joke about that.

Also, there's no way it took 3.5 hours to prep for that interview. It was gonna be a ten-minute-at-most bit of banter with a comedian, not an all-day interview with a world leader.

So I went to the doctor today. Fucking shingles. 2020 just keeps on giving.

Flu, strep throat, covid19 + influenza B, and now this.

Btw, I never really knew what shingles were...it fuckin' hurts, damn.

Apparently you don't have to be old. If you had chicken pox as a kid, you can just suddenly get shingles because thats what it is. Doc said after you have chicken pox, it never really leaves your body, it hides in your spine. It tries to get out and get you and gets killed by your antibodies. But occasionally it slips in your nerves and results in the rash. And since its travelling through your nerves it just hurts. It feels like I got punched 15 times in the same spot.

I'll be alright. My rashes aren't bad. Google image has WAY worse looking shit. I hope it doesn't move to my face. I have one small red spot on my eyebrow I'm concerned about, but hopefully we got it in time. I've just never had a rash hurt before, its weird.

Yup, I had shingles in my mid-20s and the doc said it was probably brought about in part due to stress. Had rashes all around my waist, front and back. A little bit higher on my back, too, if I recall. But I was fortunate that it was mostly a mild case and it never hurt that much, just really uncomfortable at times.
