Have to wonder if these people are getting a better discussion about movies and TV elsewhere? Or is it just a huge void that will never be filled because MC has the best discussions I've ever seen on the interaweb that even Reddit can't fill.
I have to say, I don't remember the exact altercations, but I've never seen you be vicious or aggressive enough to drive people out of posting completely.

With Mara is was likely my comments about me hating feminests. Out of context, it sounds like I'm an asshole. But in my head, I was referring to all the Howard Stern protests, Wonder Woman should have armpit hair, "all sex is rape" all video games suck because reasons feminests (which this whole thing started over a very poorly out of context video game video)...
...Not that I want to go down this road again but in hindsight, my choice of wording was poor, childish and overall stubborn i.e. I never apologized.
I haven't seen Wonder Woman but the thing about her not having under-arm hair does seem like a valid point.

It's great if you want to just praise over and over a select few films and directors that Reddit has decided are untouchable are - step outside that, though, and downvotes await.
My favorite exchange was between someone who gave a detailed reasoning of why they preferred 2001 to Interstellar - downvoted. Someone replied to him (95% of r/movies are male, so....) with (literally) "Stanley Kubrick sucks" - upvoted.

They will pay taxes. They are just taking advantage of Trump's revised tax plan, by deferring taxes based on when the income actually was collected.
According to their filing, which anyone can access, they are provisioning 1.1 Billion in income tax.
Edit: they also paid $800 million in state and international taxes, to countries like Canada.
So last night a local 11 year old girl was kidnapped by her father.
The police released an amber alert with all of the info (their names, his vehicle, etc) using the same communication system the government uses for communicating disaster info and weather alerts. So all active cell phones received a text message.
Tragically, she was found dead this morning at his home.
What makes it even worse is that the police said they got a record number of calls - people complaining about the amber alert being a nuisance so late at night (she went missing around 1130pm).
