Trump is likely going to win no matter who the Democrats nominate.
More than likely, but his remaining term will be tied up in so many investigations that he won't accomplish anything.

The disorganization of the Democrats will make a great movie 10-20 years from now.
The Dems took back the House. Its touch and go.

I like Warren most of time, although she has disappointed in the past. I do not think she is the right candidate to be the presidential nominee because she is too easily drawn into Trumpian trolling. Even if the candidate is not Sanders, Democrats need someone who shares his ability to present a clear vision for the future and stay on message.

Mostly though, I think people who feel compelled to run should do so. Their ideas should be heard. Their strength should be based on how the voters respond to those ideas. That's really all you have to do to produce a good result. I'm concerned that too many of the factors that led to the last disaster are still in play though: media primed to cover outrageousness rather than substance, money from wealthy people disproportionately amplifying toadies rather than visionaries, a Democratic party that only pays lip service to listening to the will of the people.

Though it may seem moot at this point in time, the fact that Warren scammed her way into Harvard still makes me angry. She's so unlikable- and that beer video she just released is cringe worthy.

I just find the idea of voting Republican to be morally reprehensible right now.

Harvard Law. There's a conservative beef that she faked being a Native American to benefit from affirmative action.

Warren is a bit of an academic grifter. She’s willing to fake her way to the top. When she came to Harvard Law School, she was — believe it or not — considered by some to be a “minority hire.” She listed herself as a minority on a legal directory reviewed by deans and hiring committees. The University of Pennsylvania “listed her as a minority faculty member,” and she was touted after her hire at Harvard Law School as, yes, the school’s “first woman of color.”

She's 1/16 Native American, which isn't close to being a minority.

Just doesn't seem very important in the grand scheme of things.

I figure the 2020 candidate will be either Biden or Beto O'Rourke with a female running mate.

While I agree, it is enough to get you a Native status card.

So according to the letter of the law why should she qualify for one and not the other?

As much as I hate Trump, that clip of him talking about being alone over the holidays in a house armed by lots of guys with machine guns made me laugh, especially when he talks about the armed guards making him feel really safe in a way that gives away his intense paranoia that one of them is going to shoot him.

If it's Warren vs. Trump, sure I'll vote Warren, but it's way too early at this point to say if she's the best available (she's not, but I won't underestimate the Dems' ability to summon uninspiring candidates). What's funny to me - and not to suggest this charge is immaterial - is that Warren's Native American thing has become this anchor around her neck while... I mean...

(gestures broadly at everything Trump has done)

btw I made no personal commentary about Warren or her policies, just my prediction when perceiving the current political landscape.

Hell, Trump voters may hate any Native American candidate even more than they did black.

Part of me thinks that a Biden/Obama ticket would be just about the best shot the democrats have at taking back the whitehouse.

If Biden runs it'll be another candidacy based on memes and we will be well and truly fucked.

Yeah, Biden was the one who talked about getting into a schoolyard fight with Trump or whatever. I like the guy, but that's not the kind of strategy that's going to be helpful.

The successful candidate will understand that you do not need to convince voters that Trump is a bad president. Over half of them already agree with you. You just need to articulate a vision for the future. Focus on that and you win.

I'd argue the same for Beto based on the memes of his Senate campaign slogan sharing the same font as Whataburger.
