So I wrote a new blog post in which I take a look back at my past year's ups and downs with projects and life and such in my personal year in review. So check it out, if anyone's interested. https://cwiddop.blogspot.com/2017/12...e-in-2017.html
I kinda love the pic at the top of the post. That's all kinds of awesome.Quoting TGM (view post)
Thank you, guys.
3 weeks ago I had strep, which turned into a cold that is still ongoing.
Had a stomach bug the last 3 days.
Then this morning I woke up with pink eye.
2017, are you done?
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
Fuck, dude, get better!
But to my random thought, Goon and Goon: Last of the Enforcers don't get enough love.
Don't forget you almost got decapitated by a trash truck.
Was just thinking tonight while listening to Beethoven's 9th, that for the better part of my life I have always preferred Mozart to Beethoven; have gotten into ridiculous arguments about who is better, in fact. Not just as I was a child either but well into my young adulthood. And now that I'm older, and relatively recently, I've noticed that's changed. Without a doubt I prefer Beethoven. I can't necessarily explain it -- or at least I wouldn't want to try to unpack it too much -- but I know it boils down to simply having gotten older. I'm different. And their work is the same but speaks to me in different ways now.
Curious what particular tastes of yours have changed as you've gotten older that you can't obviously attribute to aging (e.g., age-appropriate celebrity crushes) but are clearly a reflection of something about you that is different.
The answer is very obviously neither---it's Bach. ;-)Quoting amberlita (view post)
Jesus Christ do you know that I actually said to myself when I posted that someone is gonna be like "ehh Bach is da best".Quoting Irish (view post)
I shoulda known it would be you, Brutus.
Beethoven is the best. Passion over virtuosity, every time.
And Schubert. This is my favorite piece of classical music ever. Good ol' Franz couldn't gather up the courage to visit his idol Beethoven, even on his deathbed.
Beethoven wins

Aaaand it wasn’t done.
After sitting in the doctors office for 3 hours waiting to be seen, I have strep again, and now a massive inner ear infection.
My ear drum burst about an hour ago.
"All right, that's too hot. Anything we can do about that heat?"
"Rick...it's a flamethrower."
My New Year's resolution is to post on match-cut more frequently again.
led! amber!
Happy New Years, folks.

I agree. Out of the three bigs, Bach rules.Quoting Irish (view post)
I bought the original Jane Fonda workout tape and tried it this morning. Monster-in-law kicked my ass. Typing this hurts but I persevered to wish you all happy new year.

When I first met Scar he was a twentysomething. Today he turns 40 ... Happy Birthday!
Looks like I need to throw the accordion on the back of the car and head north!
HBD, Scar! Welcome to the club!
Losing is like fertilizer: it stinks for a while, then you get used to it. (Tony, Hibbing)
